Stanford is a actually like working in a city, that is, each building is pretty much an independent entity with their own income. As such, the working environment is totally dependent on where you work. The Facilities group is a very unhappy place. Hourly workers are required to account for every minute of their day, the system is inefficient and frustrating, the other employees are very negative & complain constantly, and one quickly gets the sense that you are not trusted, so there's a lot of employee turnover. In other words, don't work there. Employees in other groups can be quite happy, so don't take ths review as a condemnation of all.
