STS-Substitute Teacher Service of Media, PA

NOTICE: AVOID working here as a day sub. for Brandywine & Red Clay SD in DE. STS promises you loads of work in beginning BUT bottom line is too many subs chasing too few teacher day assign.
Also, at many of these schools, especially Brandywine SD, teachers like to make trouble for you to score brown noser points with principal & enjoy playing tattle tale to STS-makes them feel very important as the complainer as they make up lies about you!
STS in the begin. will try & pawn you off at tough, inner city schools where the kids are gang abnger wannabe hoodlums. You are put into many an impossible situation with little help & STS does not want to hear it & will BLAME you for the slightest thing often not even your fault IF word gets back to them & they check up on you too!
NOTE: You can do well working for this two-faced outfit STS & the miserable schools they send you IF you like to bend over backwards & are really good kissing up to many of the miserable, nasty arrogant, know it all teachers & principals you will have to cover for or work with day in, day out!
Good luck as many reg. teachers consider you not a substitute teacher but SUBhuman since you get paid real LOW comapred to them. Better yet, find out for yourself sport! But don't say I told you so!

I agree wholeheartedly with above post by TEACH PEACH!! STS uses you as a pawn the way Bush uses troops in Iraq almost. Human sacrifice is what I mean! Grind them up! They will get more!

They send you in to some real bad assignments. They give you very little details what to expect & then you do get blamed for things that were not your fault often placed in an impossible situation with horrible, out of control kids or vague lesson plans the teacher expects you to interpret perfectly! !! They figure if you fail miserably, they will get someone else for the job. Be advised: THEY ARE NOT THERE TO HELP YOU and only worry about filling a teacher's absence with a warm body!

You don't really count in their eyes. They have strength in numbers with a BIG pool of desperate substitute teachers to draw from at least in DE it appears!

Teach Peach is also correct about how rude, obnoxious, arrogant & down right miserable some teachers are in Red Clay & especially Brandywine school dist.

I think they feel since you are only a SUB & that you don't count for anything. I like how Teach Peach said they feel you are SUB human! I think also this is how these vicious teachers view you!

Ask your self, you you really want to put yourself in this frightful situation day in & out with stone cold STS & many a rotten teacher?? If yes, give it a try!
