The company culture, if you are in a mid-level management role, or lower grades is: DON'T MAKE WAVES!!! GO WITH THE FLOW!!! If you have any brilliant ideas that will save the bank millions then keep them to yourselves. I've personally seen SunTrust shoot down proposals designed to save millions (without layoffs)and they just couldn't get it. The quote I've heard most at SunTrust is :"But that's how we've always done it"!!!

SunTrust is a VERY VERY conservative company. You know the joke about the 3 guys walking down a path and coming across a pile of poo? They aren't sure so one smells it, one touches it and one tastes it. Once they confirm it's poo, they walk around it happy that they didn't step in it? THAT'S SUNTRUST'S corporate culture.
