Sykes is a great company overall with pockets of issues. Namely, the HR department lacks all that is important and necessary to run productively and be of service to the organization. The turnover in HR is huge and it is a revolving door. The head of the HR department has no formal education and seems to rule with an iron fist. She is truly a detriment to this growing company. If you will be working outside of HR then working at Sykes will be a rewarding experience but expect to work hard. If you are looking for a position in HR my advice would be RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!

I couldn't agree more. I worked for sykes a few years ago and my experience was one that i will never forget. I worked in HR and in my 1 year there, i could hardly keep up with all the turnover. The head of HR is not liked or respected but she seems to be able to treat people however she wants. It doesn't make sense that a public company that does business internationally would have someone with no education and a bad reputation running such a critical department. I had minimal contact with her but i often witnessed her treatment of others and her unprofessional comments. The CEO is a great man and seems to be really taking the company in a great direction. I can't help but wonder why he doesn't take action and place a seasoned HR professional in the role of head of HR.

Very true. I am a former HR employee and can attest that the HR department at Sykes is a train wreck. Management contradicts themselves on a day to day basis, people are terminated for unapparent reasons, and most importantly unethical behavior exists at all levels of the organization.

Horrible place to work at, spent exactly 6 weeks there before I was terminated for no apparent reason. Avoid this place.
