Do you work at SYKES? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in? |

I interviewed at Sykes several times. The first time was with the H.R. person. She then called me in to interview with Mr. B which took about an hour. He was very nice and the interview went well but I heard nothing for 3 weeks. Then H.R. person calls me again and says they want to bring me in for an interview with Mr. R. I asked about Mr. B and she said he chose someone else. So I interview with Mr. R. and he said that as far as he was concerned I was hired. He said that he would be going on vacation but if I didn't hear from H.R. in a week to call him on his cell and he gave me his card with his cell number. Over a week went by and I heard nothing so I called him and he acted annoyed and said that he had not made a decision yet and he would let me know. Huh! Another week went by and nothing so I called H.R. and she said Mr. R hired someone else. Then a week later H.R. calls about and Mr. B. wants to interview me again. I go to interview with Mr. B. and he says he wants to hire me immediately and to come in on Monday. On Monday, I meet the reason I didn't get the job the first time with Mr. B. Blonde, young, and dumb. She found a better job so after only 2 weeks with them, she is leaving and he needed someone fast. Then after I start working there I meet Mr. R.'s assistant. She tells me that she lived out west but really wanted to move to our state and so she called Mr. R. and told him that even though she knew he had chosen someone (me) she really wanted to the job and besides she is his best saleswoman's sister in law. Well, that solved that mystery. Six months later Mr. B resigns under mysterious circumstances and Mr. R. gets his job but he already has an assistant (his best saleswoman's sister in law) so I am out of luck. Funny thing is two weeks later his assistant quits because she found a better job. What goes around comes around. |
