What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Target HQ?

What do you like best about working at Target HQ? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

I am also interested in this info? Especially the salary ranges for IT positions (analysts). I am thinking about applying there but knowing the average salary ranges would let me know if it's worth my time. Thanks!

I started with Target right after graduating. I was a business analyst in the Merchandise Planning pyramid.

The average starting salary is $45-$47k. Plus, sign-on bonuses that go up to $3-5k if not more. Performance bonuses are up to $5k and it's dependent on individual performance, but more so on department performance.

Though Target has a very vigorous interview process, I can see why. I was only with the company less than a year because I hated the analyst job. It was nothing like the job description.

You will work LONG hours. My average weekly hours were 50-60 hours a week and I was coming in on the weekends. Let's just say that though they preach a good work life balance, the between-the-lines expectations say otherwise. Management feels for you, but you still need to deliver the numbers so it doesn't matter anyways.

They will work you like a dog for the first 2 years. If you can hang in there for 2 years, it supposingly gets better. But for me, no thank you.

I was offered a Sr. IT Analyst position for $81K w/ $2500 signon bonus. Passed on it as it would've been a pay cut. Plus, dress code is business-- guys wear ties. If I recall they only have 6 holiday days and 2 weeks PTO. That, on top of having to pay big $$$ for parking. No thanks.

Could you give me more details on the interview process? What sort of questions do they ask? Is there a skills assessment test that you have to take? Thanks.
