Hi, My name is Dan and I recently sent out a resignation email to the entire company. The email was about leadership and development -- nothing negative was stated or implied towards any person or group of people. Regardless of this fact I was asked to go home by a district leader and my email was recalled by the IT department (but not before it was read by all!) I designed the message in a way that poor leaders may be offended by it and great leaders would smile, pat themselves on the back, and keep on leading. It is for this reason that I am led to the conclusion that some "leaders" did not understand the text of the email! I do hope that it will change some team members for the better. Dan W. ~Former TM |

I wish we were all right on! Oh well the world has to have a balance of good and evil, I think I just experienced the evil districts of Target. dan |

If you don't plan on using Target as a reference I suppose you believe you did the right thing. My approach would be to secure a job first and go through the proper channels to voice my concerns. My questions is what did you actually plan to accomplish. If you thought that email would change an entire company culture, I would bet against it. If you thought it would change just a few leaders or encourage the ones you agree with, I would doubt that as well. Those who agree with your comments will probably get a laugh, and go on about their normal pursuits being influenced by the "leadership" you disagree with. Your email will simply be a 1 minute amusement. You probably had very valid points, which will be marginalized by the manner you choose to voice them. What was the point? To make a change, or just make yourself feel better. Sending out emails of resignation to all, and believing you are somehow the voice of perfect reason, seems to show a lack of maturity. And by the limited information provided in your explanation, this method appears to reinforce such an attitude. |

Buddy, I admire you. You got the e-mail out,and followed your heart and moral compas. I live in Minneapolis and am job hunting. I tell you tying to get an e-mail response for a corporate job is just about unheard of. Regretfully, Target has become the EVIL EMPIRE. They always seem to hire within...I believe federal law requires them to run the open positions in the paper even though they have no intention of hiring outside the corporate culture... |

In 24 hours I was taken to task by the person with the non-ethical behavior. You think they're hiring from within. Not always so. Young fresh out of MBA school and cheap. Yes. Many positions don't end up being filled and our pulled. Sometimes the headcount is reallocated. Another Target motto "Do less with more!" If they can't find someone to fit their mold, they just "Do less with more!" and push those responsibilites to another overworked employee. |

Good afternoon Indeed: Why is it that you display jobs that are there before summer. Also the jobs are repeated many times. Is this a joke for the people that are looking for a job? Don't you think that we are wasting our time?
