This is from the Better Business Bureau website about The Landers Group: "Complainants allege the company misrepresents the advertised employment offer. One complainant was asked to sign a release agreeing not to be paid for the day of training. It was not until after they had been driven to another location they found that they would be selling various products or coupon books door to door. Another complainant alleges during the interview the company was vague and would not give information about the actual job position, salary, or benefits. The company responded to one complaint by stating there was a miscommunication. The complainant observed the account manager prior to a final interview/training and was not offered a position because she was not immediately available. The company responded to the other complaint by stating the complaint was adjusted; however, no further information was provided." |

I just would not see a benefit for working for an organization such as this one. First they are trying to 1099 employees (recent college grads with adult debts)on a commission-based job. Secondly, from reading their ads, a person with a highschool diploma is another give-away so the time money and effort of a college graduate is on par with a highschool graduate. Thirdly, there are no benefits, so what's the incentive for someone to spend their time in that way. Oh! another dead give-away is that firms quit using the old business training model from the ground up, most firms require some form of expereince, even from school. This is really something that is a get rich quick scheme. As a recent college graduate. I may need a job, but I will never need The Landers Group. And finally, major advertising agencies handle most of the so-called clients they claim in their ads. |
