I have applied to Thomson and would like to say that I just today got rejected for a job applied to in January 2007. I have no hopes of being hired quickly for this one!

that's taleo screening systems for you. Some drone scans it then puts you into a selection bin. Taleo has quite a few of them. If the position you're applying for is technical expect to be always thrown to the bottom of the pile since the screener is always looking for keywords and not content.

I've applied for three different positions over two years there and it's always the same. no replies, no anything.
