I started following jobs posted by Turner involving Music Licensing around October of last year. The same exact two or three positions have been popping up daily since then. I have all the credentials and I believe my resume is decent enough to get a call back. But..nothing. And there's no contact info for an HR person or anything like that available.

I don't see any point in continuing to send my resume in if they're just going to ignore it. Are they really looking for people for these positions or not?

I interviewed for a position at Time Warner Cable in NY and when I callled the Recruiting Officer to inquire about the recruitment process I could not get through, her phone just kept on ringing. The position I applied for keep popping up. These people are playing games.

I have applied to every job Time Warner had in customer service multiple times .I have been a Customer Service Manager for many years and recently moved back to Missouri from Florida. I am over qualified for every position they had yet I never even got the curtiousy of a call to say NO or anything for that matter . How can they know if they do not even take the time to see or speak with you .... Todays job market is a JOKE ! I hope they do not treat their clients the same way. Customer Service should extend to the furthest end of the company if they expect it from their employees .OR do they ?????

I applied for a marketing assistant position awhile back for the New York office but never heard back until months later. The HR person said he found my resume from the job that I applied for and he would contact me about any other MA positions that came up in NYC. Well, it's months later and the same position has been posted over and over. I think they're playing games too.

You are so right. I have been applying for jobs at Time Warner since 1998....no response. They were jobs I knew I was qualified for, but from what I hear they only hire people that use to work for Crawford Communications.

i interviewed for the music licensing coordinator position which i responded to in dec 05. in january 06 i had a phone interview and one in person. i never heard back. i have a BA in music management and have worked at two of the major labels in NYC doing music licensing at one of them.

about 9 months later they called me to see if i was still interested. i was working elsewhere but not in my field so i went to interview again. they told me they originally hired someone with more of a TV and film background over me but he left to move back home.

at this interview they also told me they were looking to hire someone on a trial basis. i couldn't risk it. have bills to pay!

You are so right....the bad part is I see that everyone seems to have the same story. I've applied with Turner since 1997. You are right, the job market these days are a joke! Most of the jobs posted are not legit. Remember a lot of these companies are just filling the EEOC quarterly reports so that they won't get fined. That's unfair to people who take the time to apply and it's FRAUD!!!! Good luck to you in your job search, I'm still searching too.

Avoid Turner - black hole for resumes in Atlanta, Georgia

Hey, 2 things... I found out that no matter how many times you submit your resume to Turner, it literally gets sent to a black hole. They have some online automated system not real people actually filtering through the resumes. It's total B.S. I had a headhunter call me for a great gig there 2 months ago but b/c I sent my res through the TW website she couldn't help me. What a waste.

Secondly... I'm not sure you want the licensing gig. My brother worked at Turner almost 10 years (they laid him off just in time for him not to get tenure) as music producer. He saw that they were not keeping record and logging the music they were using on air. As an ASCAP member he was not happy. Musicians are not getting paid as they should. He raised the issue and was shortly terminated!

Then I am confused - the purpose of hiring a licensing manager / cue sheet coordinator is so that the music use is being correctly and timely logged and reported so that the corporation works within the law and musicians get properly paid. What? - is Turner going on the premise of "better to ask forgiveness than permission?" It would cost them less money to log and forward the cue sheets properly! I am very sorry that your brother was terminated for doing the right thing. Turner should refrain from recruiting for these positions if they are not truly going to abide by proper protocol. If that is the case, the right people will be watching / listening at the right time and Turner WILL get caught. Thanks for your candor - I will reconsider submitting my credentials to Turner!

ATL JOB SEEKER in Atlanta, Georgia

These stories are so true. I've applied for Unix System Admin position. really Unix NOC and also Unix System Engineer(really what I REALLY want to do). Over the past 3 years I've interviewed for the same positions. Being optimistic, I've gone on all of them and basically not hired. I do qualify for every skill they posted. I even knew someone that was leaving and I'd be working on her team. It's crazy because this position is ALWAYS posted and of course all recruiters, even Turner's recruiters keep calling me. However if you've applied on Turner's website and an outside recruiter calls you within 6 months, no chance of getting submitted to the hiring manager.
The last time I did interview, majority of the team members said yes to me, but the Director (Vickey B) said no. I just don't understand. I’d love to work there b/c I think it's equally challenging, and within the sector I'd like to work.
