Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Total Wine & More?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Total Wine & More?

Office and stores are white shirt and tie. Think IBM in the sixties.

Avoid like the plague so you wont regret it later. Brutal unsafe working conditions and low pay and no employee appreciation. This isnt IBM in the 60s. Just wal mart like in the new millenium.

I understand that they are not a good place to work, that they do not care about their employees, all they care about is making money. average payrates, bad benefits, bad schedules, demanding work, limited perks - wine training, wine tasting.

Sadly this is all true. They will work you like a stevedore-but sadly, not at a stevedore's pay, and there's no union. Get ready for 12-hour days (oh yeah you get a half hour break you can take in the ugly, dirty break room with a semi-working microwave). Everyone who's not a manager or a suckup DETESTS this place and is either desperate to find something else or just subsumed into the machine. And a machine it is--you will work harder than you ever have in your life, for less pay than you thought it was possible to earn. Seriously. Working at McDonald's is probably better; in any case I for one am ready to find out. That is TRULY how bad this place is.
