I just did the regular sim, I applied for production. Not sure if you have to do the same one most of us did. The one i did had 3 stations...a weight wall, where you have to put different weights on pegs according to what a screen tells you, a spot welding station where you have to pull a mock welderer down and put it into slots according to what a screen tells you and a car frame where you have to switch between installing a wire harness and putting in/taking out bolts, again according to what a screen tells you. None of it was really hard mentally but it's physically demanding. The great thing is the buzzer that goes off and the screen flashes red telling you that you've stopped the line. I just worked through it and by the end of the hour or so I was getting everything done in ample time. Just remember to follow the instructions, they're really clear.

I don't know if that helps but good luck!

I did my Sim back at the beginning of December. I know it took a couple of days for the status online to change.

My first reference was called today! I'm sure it'll be a few months until I see a job offer but I'm okay with that.

I got a phone call today from Toyota, I was not home but they left a message for me to call them. This should be the job offer as all of my references were contacted before Christmas. And for all of those wondering, I had my interview on November 27 2013. So it has been 2 months, with the holiday break included in that. Good luck to all.

They called at 12:15 and she said she was in the office from 7-3. I would say they will not call after hours.

That's fantastic! You must be excited. I assume they'll tell you your start date when you talk them, let me know. I'm curious how much notice they give you.

Thanks, I hope so too. Glad you got in where you wanted to. I'm really hoping for Woodstock too, I'd have drive right past the plant to go to Cambridge. Did the number they were calling from show up on your phone? lol, I don't generally answer calls from "unknown", I wait and listen to the voicemail.

Hubby thinks about a month before they are all back up with full parts. They are at a stop and go and building half the vehicles they normally would per shift. They are also being sent home early. In the interview they did day 3 weeks unless something unforeseen happening like when Japan had their typhoon. This won't be so bad.. I will post when I get my call :) you would prolly be about a month behind so depending how many the call could be a few more weeks then me.

Just wondering if you've gotten a call yet.

Just wondering if you were asked about your drivers licence and whether or not you can drive standard. My hubby just got the call as well! For the Cambridge plant though, which is what we were hoping for as we live literally 5 mins away from it.

When did your husband have his interview?

My second reference was called this morning. Guess I'd better get my stuff together! I own my own business that will continue to operate so I have to be ready to hand almost all of my responsibilities off to my second in command. A daunting task...

I as well was asking during my interview if I have had my license for more than 10 years, and if I could drive standard.. I said with a smile that I could, however I haven't driven standard in over 10 years.. He smiled and said that it was just like riding a bike. As far as I know, driving standard is only needed in the testing track? or QC I guess? I could be wrong.

Hubby had his interview Nov 15th I believe, references were called approx 2-3 days later. Nothing until now other than the 12 mths plus message online so if you haven't heard a no you're in the hiring pool just waiting on a call :)

I haven't heard of the 3 month status...I would assume if its been more than 2 weeks you're good though. Did you apply for production at Toyota? Just wondering if it was something else like Boshuko...I know they do things differently.

We were told if you haven't had a NO in 2-3 weeks tops you are in :) they are quick at weeding out the NO's but not so quick to place people in the hiring pool. Seems they do it in spurts but I'm not sure how many people are hired each time. People interviewed mid-end of Nov are being called for offers now it seems. Good luck everyone :)

Oh okay! That was the same day as me :-) My status says more than 12 months. They just called my references so hang tight! There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when they check them or call with a job offer. My fingers are crossed for you. The guy that interviewed me (HR guy) said they let you know pretty quickly if it's a "no".

Does anyone know what they do for the medical?
Is it mobility and strength tests?
Is it Medical history questions?
Is there any other tests they do?
I am not worried about any of them, I am just curious to know what to expect when I go in on Wednesday.
Thanks

A guy wearing a white hat walks in and puts on his rubber glove and gets you to bend over, slips to fingers up your arse and asks if you can do this for ten years..he leaves, then the real doctor comes in.

They are always hiring from the pool of workers that are in the hiring stages.
Huge turnover of employees. Quitting , fired , etc
Constant trickle of people in and out.

Thanks again for the info.

I wonder what the ratio is of people that apply and people that are eventually hired on. There were a lot of people doing the computer testing when I did it, 3 labs full at least. That's got to be 90 people at least at one time. When I signed up for it there were 3 available dates to choose from, 2 sessions each day. For anyone working there, do you think that the activities in the hiring hiring process are a good representation of what working at TMMC is like? Seems to me if they're losing that many employees the process may be overly involved for the results they're getting. Of course if they paid a little more people may stick around longer (that is NOT a union statement, purely a business observation).

Hi everyone. Wondering if you anyone would know anything about the status'. I had completed the SIM testing and my status changed to advising I would be contacted regarding the next stages... never received a call or email.. my status now says the whole "be patient.. 12 months" status... assuming this isn't a good sign huh? :(

I know it sucks not knowing but be patient as it says. Some people on here are just getting calls after taking the SIM test back in November.

They usually let you know right away if you didn't make it... I've heard some even after 2 days, so you should be ok until the interview at least.

You can't really prepare for it. If you are good with a computer it will probably take you about an hour. Mostly multiple choice questions (same kind that were on the application). There are some math and problem solving questions.. they also give you an on screen calculator. There is also a video game type scenario where you have to click, and type quickly and accurately. Best advice is not to overthink it, or it will drive you crazy. Just go through it naturally, and answer with your gut feelings.

Pretty basic stuff. A lot of "what would you do scenarios" multiple choice and some counting exercises. Seems they want to know how you react in certain situations. A little bit of calculating, like calculate a percentage of something. Nothing to difficult.

I'll just reiterate that it's nothing you can prepare for. They give you detailed instructions, make sure you follow them and you'll be fine. Don't read "detailed" as hard, they're just specific and tell you exactly what to do.
