Toyota employment

Al in Brantford, Ontario said: I am in the third stage of interviews at toyota in Cambridge, Ontario... Just wondering what to expect for the 9 hour period, what skills they make you do through the day and what type of questions they ask you. Also what can I expect for the next stage. Any responce would be very helpful as I am anxcious to be given an oppertunity for employment at Toyota.

I don't know what to tell you about the third stage of interviews. I would like to know what the 1st and 2nd stage would be like though. I can relate strongly to the anxiety issue though.

I am in the same boat! It seems that employees @ Toyota do not read our questions...they are probably too busy working. I am currently waiting for my "offer of employment" as I have made it through the apptitude test, the work simulation, the interview, and the reference check....just need a phone call now... What I want to know is how many people have they hired? How many more are they hiring? How far down the list am I?
The interview..I honestly cannot remember because I was soooo nervous and there was 2 interviewers - an HR specialist and a floor supervisor. The questions were pretty straight forward and what you'd expect (ie. Give me an example of a time you did not agree with your supervisor.)
The hands on work simulation was very unique - I've never seen or imagined anything like it. You spent 2 hours at each of the 3 job stations (job rotation is probably key at the factory) then you will get into a group and work out some problems together. So, if anyone has recently been hired at Toyota, let me know so I can worry just a little more that I'm not getting hired. Thanks.

I have something for you Annio, it may take some leg work on your son's behalf but if he wants the job he'll do it.
Look up the words "behavior based interviewing technique"...this will give him the tools to not only answer that question...but also the rest of the 200 or so questions he will be asked in the interview. Answers must be "positive" although the questions may be negative based....you know?

Thanks so much C-L We've been pretty much trying to prep him for those kinds of questions. I knew there was a name for that type of interview but couldn't come up with it. He'll have some cramming to do.

With the announcement that TMMC will be hiring 1200 to start this year, and 800 indefinitely postponed, do you happen to know how many people have already been hired, or have they hired enough for now?

I know that having or not having the information will not change or speed up the process, but not knowing anything is driving me crazy! The production test day is complete, and the letter did not arrive, so that part is good news. Just waiting for the call to go to an interview. Hope that comes this year!

Had my final interview the end of May. They checked my references in June. Still waiting to be hired. It is also driving me crazy. That's all I can tell you.

I only applied 3 weeks ago, had my computer testing monday night at conestoga, was notified before noon on tuesday that i was selected for phase 2, to say the least I am very shocked but hopeful.
