Hiring for steelworks

I have been informed that I will be part of the next group hiring in on the steelworks side, unfortunately no time line was given. Any feedback would be helpful since my current employer will soon be closing here and outsourcing to Canada. Thanks

Me too, I wish they would have just called. My face to face interview was back in July of 2008 and I received an email today.

Were you hired in U.S. Steel? I'm going through same problem you went through, was not giving a time table and stressing me out waiting to hear more information.

I applied for U.S.S. over an year ago, took my physical and drug test, almost six months ago. I called maybe once a month for the first three months and was told too be patient, which I tried but that didn't. But...I forgot one important thing about the process, keeping my U.S.S. profile updated on the website, I was very lucky too have someone in the HR department email me and inform me that I needed to reapply, which I did got a phone call rest is history. I hope this information will help someone else!!!
