How long until I start making money?

I just got a job at UPS as a package handler. I'm a really hard worker, motivated, college grad, etc etc. I realize I'll only be making about $100-150 each week starting off, and I may be laid off after the x-mas rush. But for arguments sake, let's say I get a permanent part time position. How long until I start making enough money to do something crazy, like, oh I don't know...move out on my own?

I'm lucky enough to have an amazing family that has helped me and kept a roof over my head, but I want so desperately to be independent, making my own money. I'm almost 26 and I want to be able to start a family soon, but obviously not on $400/month.

Don't expect much more pay working package handler, u might get a raise from time to time (maybe once a year) but even then its very slight raise..
Hope for a promotion to supervisor then you will be making more..
