I wonder if this is happening in Canada as well. I can't imagine a company so wasteful in efficiency and mandatory overtime doing well in a down market. I feel bad about those who work there getting affected. But the top management are a bunch of stupid yes men, who need to realise a paper based system is stupid, costly, wasteful, highly inefficient, and not accurate enough. You want to be truly competitive, embrace modern technology. Treat employees with the rights they have according to legislature. Trust me I have since moved on to a company that has a modern approach, and makes sure employees are treated very well, and its the most positive work environment I have ever been in. I even make less money and I'm happier.
The way the economy is going Uline will have to make drastic changes if they will stay afloat. No more overtime on Saturday to keep the place clean, stop sending Americans to stay in hotels to make sure the place is being run like the third reich, and get a bar code system in place. The replenishment system is a joke and highly costly. I never did understand why its done the way its done.
Anyway anyone from Uline reading this, its some advice on how to run a tighter ship. The company is far too bloated, I personally believe its rubbed off from the Uihlein ego.
