What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Uline?

What do you like best about working at Uline? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

They pay ok, but then when review time rolls around, annually, you get screwed. They try to keep you at your current pay by using bogus negatives in your salary review. What looks too good to be true, usually is. That is the case with Uline. Shady, deceptive company.

Got a call & interview right away and I think everything went well with first interview...

Im seriously interested in hearing what current employees think about the place??? I work for an awesome company and am in no hurry to jump ship unless the right offer comes along. Im excited about all the growth going on here but what is the environment like? Do they run the company with an iron fist or are they more interested in having happy staff. Im alright with a company that expects a lot out oftheir employees as long as I get a lot (And Im not just talking money).

E-gads! There are several comments both for and against working for U-line. I have an interview tomorrow and am feeling a little intimidated. On one hand they have good benefits and decent pay, especially for a warehouse "rat" like me. On the other hand, I don't know if I want to work for a company with such little flexibility. I sent my resume to them in response to a clerk position, which on paper I look completely qualified for. If some of the comments I've read from others are true, I'm not going to hold my breath. I understand that they are a highly successful company, but sweet Jesus! Woman having to wear skirts, no gum at your station and absolutely no room for new ideas. I don't know. I'll go to my first interview and see whats up. I'm skeptical, though. One last comment, though. I worked for Motorola in the early to mid 90's. At that time they were experiencing a giant growth rate similar to U-line is, right now. Motorola never posted the shear number of jobs that U-line has, with same jobs being advertised, at the same locations over and over again. That just seems odd to me. It can't all be attributed to just growth. I guess I'll see. I don't know if someone should wish me luck, or hope they pass me over.

I just finished my first interview this morning. It might have been the most impersonal interview I have ever had. After the two numerical tests I took, I waited for 40 minutes in the reception area before someone came to speak with me. This woman was very cold. I felt like I was being grilled by my high school principal. She rarely looked at me when she spoke. I know they get a ton a applications everyday, but could she at least act like she cared I was there. A nice how are you, or nice to meet you would have been fine. I thought HR people were supposed to be personable. Anyway, she said they would contact me in a week to 10 days about further interviews. I doubt it.
