I have seen the same positions posted on the web for months! doing my research, your company it's not even close to the fortune 500 companies. Why are you so picky to hire people! is your company so special that cannot find a good match??? I work for a real company Fortune 500, please stand on your feet and get your positions filled.

I work for Uline. Just to hit a few points:

a) Uline's growth rate is over 20%. We're constantly hiring because we're expanding rapidly; in addition to 6 nationwide branches and a satellite in Mexico, we have just established a branch in Toronto and we're starting up in Seattle within 3 years if the growth rate continues.

b) Uline will reach a billion dollars in sales between November & December. No, we are not a Fortune 500 company. We are a relatively small, entirely private, family owned & operated business. (As of August, 2000 employees)

c) Uline is EXTREMELY particular. We operate this company on a relatively small staff and it is only possible by being discriminate in hiring practices--dress, speaking ability, writing & testing ability, in addition to solid references and an eloquent resume are MUST-HAVES.

d) If you can get a job at Uline, you'll keep it. The bonuses are amazing. Profit sharing, 401K, PTO, health/dental/vision, life insurance, free membership to Lifetime Fitness, constant sales bonuses (even for forklift drivers and non-sales positions), and of course great parties!

I watch several individuals walk in & out our doors daily for interviews. Few are hired. Those who are hired stay. Because we're a great company. We're not Target, we're not McDonald's, and that's why the company is skyrocketing. Apply again. Good luck, no sour grapes allowed.

I've noticed a trend... the "sour grapes" motiff, originally stated by Irene Doolittle (which by the way is a fake employee name for Uline. Must mean HR is creating false blogs.) Funny that they are the ones interviewing and are not smart enough to know not to use that.
Uline is very strange to work for. I cannot put my finger on it, but there is something there that is just not quite right. You are treated like a child working there. Eyes constantly staring down your back. The benefits are nice, but I don't think I will be there much longer. Everyday I see people sitting in the interview room. If their turnover is so great, where are all these people going? There is not enough room for even a few more people. Yet, there's always those same postings you see. Can't wait to see what my raise will be, bet it will be a joke. Just an FYI, like management likes to say.

So what constitutes an amazing bonus? Can you quantify a dollar figure or percentage of base salary?

Someone in a previous post mentioned no gum at your desk. Is this correct? So no food or drink either?

Not bashing, just curious.

I used to work for Uline. I will admit the wages are better than average, the benefits I don't know because I quit before I got them. Uline had completely disregarded Canadian Labour Laws. #1 for a warehouse especially in Ontario is steel toes boots where forklifts are operated is mandatory. I remember on my orientation day asking about this and was told "you can wear them if you want but we don't recommend them" even after I said I believed it was law. Also forced saturday and statutory holiday work. I had worked over 45 hours in a week and was expected to come in on a Saturday for a full 8 hours. Labour law here in Ontario is 48 hours max. I asked if I could do 3 hours on Saturday and was told I had to commit to a full 8 hours otherwise it would count as absenteeism. Yet the labour law states its within my right to work no more than 48 hours if I choose. They also changed the shift of 2 guys who started with me. They were hired to work 10am-7pm like me but on their second day were told the next day you are starting at 3am. Would a reputable company surprise employees like that? And then expect them to be happy about such a drastic change? I felt as if fascist nazi's were telling people what to do and how to do it. I believe in being an individual and Uline definitely has no room for that, so I left. I am much much happier earning less money elsewhere but feel I am around humans again.

Tired of games by ULINE in Ontario, California

I went to the Ontario ULINE job fair back in April. I was in line at 5pm,made my way inside around 845p, finished 2 test by 915p and then I had a face to face with a tired looking ULINE salesperson. At the time of my face to face I found that the ULINE person was very short and wanted nothing to do with me. I felt I was just a number. To make a long story short, I also feel ULINE is doing something weard when it comes to who they bring in to work within the company.
I know someone who applied and is the worst person you would want to work for the company and she got hired....

Yeah they base alot on looks and personality tests. I managed to sneak through their filtering system. Because if the testing wasn't flawed they would have discovered I was not right for the mental conditioning they expected I would endure. I do know they don't like hiring people of colour, or with strong accents. I heard American employees complaining about the number of immigrants applying for warehouse work, as if they were completely crazy for even trying to apply. I also heard a Canadian staff member quickly inform them the Toronto area is high in mixed cultures. I could tell she was insulted by their ignorance.
