Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Ultra Electronics Advanced Tactical Systems?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Ultra Electronics Advanced Tactical Systems?

Ultra ATS in Austin, Texas

Ultra Electronics Advanced Tactical Systems (ATS) designs, develops, delivers, and supports real-time tactical command and control systems. We have delivered systems to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and many of our Allied and Coalition partners. Our systems and personnel have supported every major conflict since our founding in 1987.

The employees at ATS are mission focused -- our ultimate mission is to support our customer, the soldier. Simply put, everything we do from Product Innovation to Systems Development, from Engineering to Product Assurance and Support, from Program Management to Human Resources Management ultimately involves one thing -- supporting our US, Allied and Coalition soldiers in enabling them to do their jobs and get them home safe -- is who we are and its in our DNA.

The culture at ATS is one built on "Esprit De Corps" and camaraderie -- we work hard, but we have fun, too. Work hours are 7:30a-5:30p M-Th and 7:30a-11:30a on Fridays. Yes, you read that right, we take half the day off on Friday...every Friday, except on holidays of course.

Speaking of holidays, we have 11 of them...we also have 10 days of vacation (to start) and 10 days of sick time. You do the math...52 Fridays of half days = 26 days off + 11 holidays + 10 vacation days + 10 sick days = 57 days off...YOUR FIRST YEAR!!

Our environment is casual...some wear jeans, some wear khakis, no one wears suits & ties and tie-dyed t-shirts are a must on Fridays! We just had our crawfish boil, so we like to eat and its not uncommon to find groups going over to the Domain for lunch and team-building.

We like to encourage a healthy lifestyle so wellness initiatives are a big part of our culture. We have Yoga classes on site and our building backs up to a green-belt where people will go for a walk or a run. We have fresh fruit brought in weekly and you'll find fruit juice and vegetable juice stocked in the café along with many different flavors of coffee.
