this must have been at a specific branch. the home office has a real HR department, although they may not be the greatest...but they are there. not all employees start out at sales agents, again this must have been a recruiter that contacted you from a branch. the non sales jobs are at the home office in mckinney, tx. |

Could anyone recommend a good insurance company to work for that offers legitimate leads, and pay advance? Interested primarily in SR market. midsouthwholesale@yahoo.com Chris |

I've been contacted by this company and have had several issues, though I'm going to see it through. 1. The information given on the initial "set up an interview" call was vague.
All of this comes after my doing a reverse phone lookup and finding the company is American Insurance. I was contacted about 40 minutes after my scheduled interview time and the called took responsibility for the mistake saying he was not aware interviews were not being scheduled at 9am but rather only between 11 and 2. So I'm going back tomorrow (5/14). I'll let you know what happens. |

Well, I went back as promised, watched the presentation and spoke to a "Unit manager". I found they seem to be a very reputable company. Warren Buffett is a shareholder, and he doesn't generally make mistakes. (I've worked at Birkshire-Hathaway companies in the past). They did "lure me in" with an initial contact phone call that stated, "We're looking for managers", when you do in fact start as an agent. I'm willing to let that slide because it looks like their metrics for promotion are very achievable, and they are growing at a rate that means I COULD become a manager quite quickly, if I measure up. I'm still not certain I'm going to pursue the opportunity because Ins. Sales is SO different than anything I've ever done. I am, however, satisfied that they are a reputable company (in spite of the train wreck that was my first contact with them). As always, your mileage may vary. |
