Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Valero?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Valero?

When it was UDS it was a great place to work as far as casual attire, and fun laid back atmosphere(do your job) and you will not be micro managed.

then Bill Greedy and Valero took over.

shave your beard and stash not allowed, cut your hair and loose your earrings because you will be in a suit and tie at all times. Really fun to be working in the noc dropping floor tiles on your tie and screaming bloody murder.

they do pay quite well, far better than UDS but you will be "silently Required" or "vigorously encouraged" to give 1% of your annual salary to united way, no ifs ands or buts. If you are tech lead or management then you will also be "silently Required" or "vigorously encouraged" to give 1.5 to 3 % to their PAC. The fact that they are on the 100 best list is also an internal scam of "threats of or else".

think 1940 bankers with teak and cherry lined offices full of stuffed animals and such.

I bet Roger Hemminghaus pukes every time he thinks about what they have done to his once great place to work.

they are making hella money though thanks to your suv's
