Turnover rate?

Yes, your turnover rate. So what is it? You're a manager. You should know this. In a given time period, what percentage of your Reps quit?

In 2003 Lauren Katz won a case she filed with the New York Department of Labor against Vector Marketing. In the suit, Katz argued that Vector breached the independent contractor agreement, making her an employee of the company. Katz received monetary compensation from the company for unpaid training.

In any commission job the turnover rate is extremely high.

What's the turnover rate for a recruiter Bosco? Is your employment industry a scam because it has a high turnover rate?

Bosco, we've never been sued.

I'm not sure what our turnover rate is, thats not something we're focused on. And what are you attempting to point out or prove? people quit because they give up, I really don't get what your getting at.

Vector Marketing admitted to fraud in settlements with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (1999), Wisconsin Consumer Protection Dept (1994), and Arizona Attorney General (1992).

Here's a link to an article containing more damaging evidence about Vector Maketing including several lawsuits against the company:

The article also mentions a report by a member of the Wisconsin Consumer Protection Department which concluded that on average, Vector Reps earned LESS THAN $3 per day!!

I would like to add to this forum on what happened or actually is happening to me with this company. This started just over 2 weeks ago. I was unemployed and not in school as I can't even afford that right now. I applied, was interviewed and "hired". I thought I was getting $12 an hour for training but I found out the first day that was not the case. I did go the first two days of training. The last day I had another interview, for a company that was a real full-time job with benefits! I decided to not go for last day of training for the cutco knives but the manager called and talked me into going. I told him I had no money, at all. I am broke and owe my family money and could not come up with the $149 required for the knife set. He was really high pressure and said he would give me the knives for my I-pod which I had paid $150 for (not including all the songs I have on it!) So I said I would do that and gave him my i-pod.

Anyway, I got a call the next day from the other job I interviewed for and got hired at a good hourly rate! So, I put aside selling the knives at this time. I had thought I would go back after training of the other job and use cutco as a side job. But now I just got a certified letter from someone claiming to be an attorney saying I have violated a KS statue 21-3701 (thievery)! The letter does not look legit. I have googled the "law firm" as well as the named lawyer etc. and nothing comes up on the computer. There seems to be no attorneys in our area by the name of any of the 15 attorneys listed on the fake looking letter. The phone # is the cell number of the manager at cutco! WTH! This really ticks me off! I had thought I could try to make some side money once I complete training at my full-time job. Now I get this letter saying to send the knives back to the company or subject myself to "litigation". I have a contract saying I can keep the knives. I am not happy with Vector marketing! What a terrible company.

Wow, that sucks! Did you ever call the Manager back? What was his explanation for the letter? Did you get you I-Pod back?

Anyway, congrats on your new job!! Good luck . . .
