What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does VELOCITY EXPRESS stack up against the competition? |

Really, really,REALLY A BIG BUNCH OF LOW LIFE LOSERS!!!!!Pay being short is an on going issue with this company.I've driven for them for two years. They have to rob from peter to pay paul every week. These problems will always be there as long as you are. They have nothing to offer but excuses.I drive in the south east. It's no different here.I feel for you brother. They never listen until it's to late. This is very seedy company to say the least. If you look around on the internet you will read many stories just like yours from all over the U.S.. |

If you are an intelligent person, and you're reading this blog, do you see anything positive about this company? What is the general consensus? They continually short pay their drivers and the management team(I'm giving way too much credit here)is totally inept. The only way to show it's investors it's reducing overhead is to cut, cut, cut. Has anyone checked out the stock price lately? Look at the trend and consider the fact there was a 15:1 reverse split recently. It is only a matter of time before VE gets de-listed from NASDAQ. I was not on the front lines, I held a management position and really got to see the company from a very disturbing perspective. As one of the previous responders noted, You Have Been Warned!!! |

I work out of the chicago location and it is a complete disaster as well. Management is the worst and they cant hold drivers. I have been there over a year and my check is correct about half the time. The only way to get it right is when I walk out and leave my route, then they pay attention. The only reason I am still there is I have a good route hauling Ecolab product so I can gross $1800-$2200 per week with a 24ft straight truck. I have been looking to leave since January and its just the matter of time until the place falls apart completly. They refuse to pay us for fuel and diesel is at $4.65 gal today. Once is hits $5.00 everyone will quit. |

I know that Velocity has been charging their customers a fuel surcharge, but are not passing that on the their drivers. Again, Its always like they are against their own people. Instead of looking for ways to keep good Drivers, they nickel and dime us until we leave. Most at our location are planning a walkout when gas hits $4. We simply can't continue. |

I would be extremely wary of either working for or contracting with this company right now if I were you. Not only are they shorting their drivers on pay but they aren't paying their landlords any rent on their buildings, either. If Velocity doesn't straighten up (and fast!) their operations will be completely shut down due to numerous evictions and breach of contract lawsuits. |

I've worked as an IC for Velocity as well as being a Velocity employee and i can tell you we have the same night mares up here in the north as everyone else does. You never know what your going to get paid for work youv'e already done two-three weeks ago and local management always says the same thing it's a mistake we'll look into it. You may get something back one week but if you don't keep track of everything then that same week they give you something back they take more out. Continually changing the way they want to pay without ever notifying the drivers as to why or when and it always start with the two pay periods already in the system. If anyone out there is from this area i would like to hear from you. If you write here just mention wb and i'll know who it's for and we'll go from there. Thanks for letting me vent aq little. |

Me and about 12 other drivers were fired this week after complaining about our paychecks and rate cuts, our story is getting attention all over our region, the state attorney general is getting involved after media coverage for 3 days straight. We know we're up against a "Soprano style" company, but we are confident

I heard these guys are filing for bankruptcy. Does anyone have any additional information? i haven't been paid for the last 4 weeks to the tune of $15,312. Looks like they just had another loss of $11 million for the last quarter 08. My route and package volume is shrinking by the day. |
