What's the company culture at VELOCITY EXPRESS?

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at VELOCITY EXPRESS?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at VELOCITY EXPRESS?

Very casual environment, not very professional. Management is dishonest & says whatever is necisary to get you to preform. Payroll is never correct for any IC I know. Customer are also lied to on a regular basis. Everytime I am sent to cover for a late shipment, I never know what story they were told.....truck broke down, line haul truck was late, shipment didn't arrive at all that day.....all lies. I'm only staying until I find someplace better.

Culture??? Class??? At Velocity Express??? As an ex-I.C. and ex-employee, the only nice thing I can say about V.E. is the comradery among the I.C.s and some of the employees (non-management). I never knew of friday happy hours or whatever - not at a company level anyway.

This company has it down to a science of what to pay their I.C.s, and it's just enough so that you can't get ahead and you can't afford to quit.

Culture??? Class??? The ONLY culture and class at Velocity Express, is the poor saps who have left the place. I feel so bad for those that I signed into that Hell Hole. THAT is why I left a management position. We TRIED to run a ethical, efficient, professional, moral terminal from a local mgt standpoint, I should say MrC & I did. The mgr above us locally was as corrupt as the corporate (bad words) were.
