I no longer work at Verizon Wireless but if you can put up with the structure of a call center requiring you to do certain things on every call, then it is a great company to work for. The benefits and salary are above average and i also received a yearly bonus. You have to be able to receive call after call in a high volume and get on and off the call quickly. You are tied to a desk and punch in and out for breaks, lunch, personal time. It is very stressful because you are also monitored on a monthly base. Because of the industry products and services quickly change and you are required to keep up on the changes through e-mail and training.

Hello,

I am thinking of applying at Verizon Wireless in the Financial Services Dept. Can anyone tell me what is involved with this position and about the stress level and if there are any quotas that need to be met to keep the job. Also, any info. on pay and work hours would be great. Thanks in advance!

DON'T DO IT! I worked in collections for over a year and this is the most stressful enviornment to be in! BELIEVE ME! it is not worth the benefits, pay, ANYTHING. You get cussed out for THE CUSTOMER NOT PAYING THEIR OWN BILL!!! Every call is HORRIBLE. you take call after call after call no breaks inbetween, you get 2 breaks and a lunch but aside from that you're glued to the phone. Financial Services is a nice title for COLLECTIONS REP. You do both inbound and outbound calls, it is horrible. Try taking call after call of customers pissed off because they are poor and taking their frustrations out on you for it....threatening to cancel their service with us if we don't turn their account back on-WITHOUT PAYMENT!- and having to be fake nice and pretend that you give a sh*t about it...its ridiculous. This is the worst department to be in. Don't get me wrong-the company is EXCELLENT and the benefits are awesome...but it isn't worth the stress. luckily I got a different position and no longer take collection calls...but trust me, you have been warned..

VERIZON WIRELESS CALL CENTER - ELGIN, Il (Customer Service Rep)

THEY WASTED MY VALUABLE TIME IN THIS PROCESS

- Telephone interview: (FOUND OUT IT WAS A 3RD PARTY THAT SELECTED MY RESUME) - I find this to be Verizon's lazy approach in the selection process

- Assessment: Passed - hour long process/Scheduled interview

- Interview: Face to face (was very good...I thought)

- Get Generic Auto Response email about 12 am on Saturday, few days after:

"Unfortunately, you were not the candidate best qualified for the position to which you applied. However, with your experience and skills, your qualifications may better align with another position at Verizon Wireless, and we hope you will consider applying again."

What??? I have tremendous experience...they called me in beginning based on my resume/customer service work history. I also had a perfect score I was told during my assessment.

Interview went extremely well.

I truly believe I was not hired due to the fact that I am from another country.

I plan to challenge this!!
