I'm wondering if I should be worried. - I really need this job.

I applied online and received an email about a week later asking me to call HR and set up a phone interview - and I did just that.

I had my first phone interview on 2/15. The HR woman was friendly. She scheduled me to come in for Assessment.

I went and took the assessment tests on 2/23. The woman there was also very friendly, she told me that I passed and she scheduled me for a second phone interview.

I had that second phone interview today with a man. He was not so friendly, and at the end of the interview he told me that they would review my information and get back to me (via email) sometime in the next five business days.

This worries me because the previous interactions all resulted in the scheduling of the next step.

Is this procedure or does that mean I failed? Or are they REALLY reviewing my information and I still have a chance?

I'll be frantic and worried about this all week. Yuck.

I just went through the interview process with Verizon Call Center here in Georgia. I had my first phone interview February 11th with the recruiter. On February 16th I took the Assessment test, which I passed. On February 23rd I had the third interview with the Talent Recruiter/Hr person. I was orginaly scheduled for February 27th for my fourth interview but they wanted me to come in sooner so I had my final two interviews on February 24th back to back. I missed a call from them that same evening so they called me this monring, February 25th, to offer me the position.

I'm not sure if it's the same where you live, but all the forums I've seen have pretty much been the same no matter the location. I wouldn't give up just yet, and I wish you much luck. Hopefully you will hear something real soon.

I just went through an assessment test and I would love to get this job as Tech Support Coord, but I got another Interview with a different employer. How long should I have to wait for Verizon Wireless to contact me for interviewing? Should I tell my next Interviewer to give me a week to think about the job, because I most likely will get the second job due to internal managerial recommendation. But I would prefer Verizon Wireless. Any suggestion would be absolutely appreciative.

I have been through some of the same at the location that I interviewed at I had a phone interview, testing, group interview, another group interview and then the director who was awesome. Everyone was so nice. The director interview was more of him telling me more about the company and what to expect and questions that I had, then told me when the next class starts and that was it. I asked if I should plan to attend the class and make arrangements for my children and he said he did not see why not so I guess just waiting on HR to contact me.

Hey Hambrick709,

Not sure if things are done differently from where your from, but I just attended a Verizon job career fair and applied for a retail customer support rep position. I did three interviews, and after the last one with the HR Manager, he said he would give me a reply in about two weeks if I got the job or not. Is that about right, or is it a sign that I didn't get the job?

I have went through 2 different phone interviews & have also passed the assessment test. It has been 2 weeks since my 2nd phone interview. The HR represenitive told me that someone would be contacting me within the next week but, I havn't heard anything! The training class starts on July 12th so I have about 3 weeks left. Do yall think i still have a chance? Should I be worried? I was told there is a total of 3 different interviews (2 on the phone & 1 in person) I still havnt had the in person interview yet. And whats this thing about A-Check? What is that?

Im going through then same thing. I really want this job! It has been almost 2weeks since I've talked to anybody. I don't want to think negative but, that really seems like a long time. The classroom training is starting on July 12th so I have about 3weeks. Is there still hope that I have the job?

I went through the process in Greenville, After I passed the assessment it took a while to get called for an interview because the interviewer was on vacation, but my recruite was real nice and she kept checking with me to see if I got called for an interview and she emailed the interviewer to let him know that I passed and he needed to call me. As soon as he got back I was called and everything from then on happened fairly quickly. Even my background check didn't take long, so hang in there.

Mine was a little different. I had to take the test and then phone interview. Unless you count the initial call I received from the recruiter an "interview". She just told me about the position and asked me if I could do the things outlined in the job description. Then after the test, I had a phone interview. Where are you working GA? What was your face to face like? How soon after your face to face and job offer did you begin training?

Hi there, I am waiting to have a phone interview in a day or so. Can you remember any of the questions they asked you so I can be a little prepared? I really need this job and I am so nervous. Anything would be helpful. Also, how long do they keep you on the phone? THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My phone interview took about 45mins. They asked me the typical questions like what I liked about customer service, how I handle irate customers, they asked how I feel about wireless service and what I think are good features about phones. There then was a series of behavioral question. You should do fine if you have some customer service experience, there answers to the questions will come easy to you. Hope this helps.

Hello, My name is Anabella and I worked for Verizon Wireless call center in Tampa Florida for 4 years. Yes this is a normal process they can take up to a month before you hear from them, however I would recommend you take the other job. Verizon wireless is not a nice place to work. They have great benefits however you can not use them. They say they have a chain of command, however they do not and they will not protect your rights as an employee. You are a number to them not a person. After I gave them four years of my life, I promoted from within three times, all my hard work did not mean anything to them. They use a behavior modification process once your in the call center or tech support floor, that will put you in the hospital for mental health in six months. In the 4 years I worked in Verizon I and half of my team were on antidepressants, we all used each others meds when we couldnt afford the refills, you would see the ambulance on the parking lot taking at least one person to the hospital for stress issues.

Take the other job and forget Verizon. I do wish you a lot of luck in the other job or any job you may be interviewed. But I do not recommend Verizon wireless to one. Not even my worst enemy. Have a wonderful day

If anyone can help me with my process so far I will greatly appreciate it. So I applied for the Customer Service Rep position located at the call center in Alpharetta Ga on Jan 28th. Secondly I had my first phone interview Feb 3rd it went well, received an email that stated" Thank you for your interest, your phone interview has been forwarded and if your background check meet our needs we will be in contact with you" I am now scheduled to take the assessnent on the 9th. My question is have they already started on my background check since I have moved to the next step? Also what's the next step after the assessment?

ok people here is the thing. I have went through the process several times. If you have any interview with verizon you will know at the end of the call or at the end of the interview if you will make it to the next step or not. here is how and this is with any job. If at the end of the interview they set you up for the next step in the hiring process then your doing good. If at the end of your interview they tell you they will be in contact with you within the next week or so then you did not make it to the next step in the hiring process and they will either send you an email or send you a letter in the mail.

WOW I love everyones comments I read at least 200 of them. The only difference with me is I havent had the first interview yet which is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I believe in preparation thats why I looked for a forum such as this one and I am really glad that I did. I am going to process and put all the great information that I learned on here to help me through this grueling process. I made it 22 years in the military I am sure I can handle this, LOL

Ok Terrance. I got my offer today! Now question for you. Have you called or e-mailed anyone yet? I did, for both of my last calls. I actually just sent a follow-up e-mail yesterday telling them how excited I was yata yata yata. I finally asked if she could advise how far I was in the process. A lady called me today! This morning. So now I have to do the drug test and the background check. She says I'm borderline on my start date. Aiming for June 20th, but could be July 18th!

Well thats wonderful news Becca, I did get a call from the HR guy today, he said the class I was supposed to be sceduled for was canceled and that there would not be another one til around September. He said that I did pass everything but they ran out of seats for the June class and that they had to go by who applied first so that leaves me and 5 more people without seats. So thats that for now. But I am really very happy for you. Keep me abreast of how everything goes for you. And again CONGRATULATIONS!!

Goodness! But keep in mind that for whatever reason that someone loses a seat you'll be in line for that or those seats! Remember they still have to complete background checks and whatnot. Not to wish bad on the next person or anything! Thanks for the good wishes! I'll keep you posted!

Don't panic!!! It sounds like you have done a good job so far in the interview process and if they are serious about finding the best applicant for these jobs then they will take a little bit of time reviewing all the applicants before they employ anyone.

Did you ask questions about the company and let them know you think Verizon is a great company to work for? It is always a good idea to show interest in the company this way you will be more successful when applying for jobs.

Good Luck and hope all goes well!

Hey Alyssa! I called the number that I was given on that paper I got from passing my assessment. I called on Monday and today. I left messages both times. I feel paranoid too, but I'm glad that I found somebody else who is in the same boat. Hopefully we hear something soon, I really want this job. Keep in touch, let me know if you hear anything, I'll do the same!
