Volt Services is a huge JOKE!!!They sent me on an interview then offered me a position which I immediately accepted. They sent me for a drug test and did my background check. After pulling my background they stated that there was an arrest on my background that was not correct. I went thru my local police dept, National Police records and the FBI who all stated that the charge was incorrect. After about a week are so they decided to pull my background thru another company and everything came back fine. Volt then told me that the job had been placed on hold and they would let me know if they still needed me for the job. They then called me back days later and stateted that job had been placed on hold. This was a not true because a friend of a friend was offered the job and had accepted it. They are liars and I am out of a job in a horrible job market!!! They screwed up and I am paying for it. I made it clear that I was very unhappy and now they will not call me for any jobs.

It's not Volt's fault that your background returned an arrest. Any respectable company will put an applicant on "hold" if there are suspicious things such as arrests, DUIs, etc... There are too many applicants to choose from to focus on someone who might have a criminal background. It was bad luck, so be it, try again.

I hear from a friend that 2Wire has excellent benefits and also offers bonuses. they seem to encourage growth within the company and often convert contractors, too.

I didn't have a good experience working for Volt. It was a call center and the management there who were Volt employees hired to start when we did had contradictory rules to the company we were contracting for which I didn't agree with. We kept being told this is Volt, not (company name). And as soon as we started the recruiting center seemed to want nothing to do with us. Early in the program people were trying to call in to the recruitment center because the managers didn't have their phone numbers out yet, but the center either didn't want to have responsibility or they took long to relay the info making the management think those people took off without calling in. The whole time we all felt expendable like we could be fired any second for any little thing. I heard people working there who had worked for 2wire through Volt said it was a lot worse there. Also when we started our contract was for 6 months and they said we had benefits but we noticed quickly that you only start getting benefits after working 1000 hours :P The building we were in was kind of run down and the staff apologized for this on the first day the building was open and we were told it would be cleaned up but it never was. A lot of us felt some of the rules were ridiculous. I would advise caution but not go so far as to say to stay away.
