Why would anyone spend the money to do that? Perhaps there is something in your background that doesn't match the requirements. Have you tried calling the local office? |

Mike, it appears that you like to sit back and wait. Call them. Find out why they haven't called you. Ask for the truth. What is it about your resume that made them pass you over? It could be why other employers have not called. Use that information to help you fix the problem. |

i'll tell you all you need to know about volt...i walked away from a position as a test tech in san diego because a prod sup asked me to do something that was morally incorrect volt in their infinite wisdom backed the production sup and have blackballed me nationwide.... incredible in this day and age that they can get away with it |

I have also seen Volt's ads numerous times in 2 specific states I am job searching and I myself have all the qualifications, yet when I reply with my resume I never hear a word. I truly believe Volt is a fictional company. |

As with any ad on-line it is always good to follow-up with the company you applied with. This ensures that they take a second look at your information and possibly gives you the opportunity to speak with someone to further describe why you are a great fit for the position. Volt is just like any other company that uses the internet to find qualified candidates. When you post you get hundreds of responses from multiple job openings. There is only so much time in a day and so much time you can dedicate to each open requisition. Sometimes you don't get to all of them or you are quickly scanning for keywords that aren't highlighted well or presented differently on your resume. Have you ever hired for multiple positions across different professions using numerous job boards, search engines, and referral sources? |

I've recently been placed through an agency. While on an industry specific web site I thought I'd click on the JOBS link just to see what's new. I entered my key-word & zip and guess what.... The job I've been placed in is being advertised by VOLT. To make a long story short may I offer this; Go local to the job market you seek and build rapport with a local rep. from however many agencies/headhunters as you think appropriate. You are unemployed yes? Well... you actually do have a job right now; you're a salesman working for free. You are selling YOURSELF! Meet these people face to face. If you're the real-deal, they will send you on interviews. Here's the tricky part: it doesn't matter if you can make water run uphill. If an employer cannot picture you being around, they will not bring you on. An employer will hire an under-qualified candidate that is likeable and has ambition over the candidate that is a creepy A-hole with 3 patents under their belt. Plan on at least 3 interviews before you get an offer if you're not good at selling yourself. This go's for everyone; an out-of-work automotive engineer w/ 20 years of experience or a fresh face kid out of college. The job market is an M’er F’er. GOOD LUCK! |

they keep running the same ads here in orange county, ca for shipping/receiving positions(which i applied for). yet i never hear anything back and when i call to see if they have positions available they tell me they currently don't. so why run weekly ads for positions that don't exist? |
