I went for an interview for this job, but they decided for another person. Anybody can tell me why they are posting this job when it is already a closed position?? |

Each company is different in handling their information. Usually expect 2-7 days for their internal job status information to update. |

It's because all they want to do is build up their database of candidates from which to choose. It's always a joke to go to temp agencies. They promise you everything and deliver NOTHING !!!! |

Building up their database of candidates in which to choose from is what temp agencies do do (no pun intended). There's a good ad by Volt Services in Bakersfield, CA. They are demanding you be honest and reliable. Apparently, they are experiencing one of the Universal Laws created in the Beginning: Likes attract Likes.

Look, the reps at Volt get paid only when they place somebody. The bigger the spread between what Volt charges the company and what they pay you the more the rep makes. It takes no effort for the rep to send you in for an interview. They will do this even if they think a position is almost certainly filled. There is always a tiny chance the position will open again and the company will hire you. It is just a numbers game to the rep. They send as many bodies as they can find. |

It is a numbers game. When I worked at one of their call centers for a company. I like the company we were contracted to so I won't name it. The company was great, but Volt was not. They started up a new call center and sent three hiring waves through. The first of us was really technically smart and most were able to handle calls ok which was great because this was a tech support job. The second wave was OK, but the third were the most ignorant bunch about tech support I could have seen. And this is a tech support job! Those of us who were first got promoted to the second tier but we still had the same number of calls from people who were good on the phones but knew crap about how to fix the product they were supposed to be supporting. Turnover was horrendously high but they didn't seem to care because they always had warm bodies eager to fill the seats. |
