Second, I have my phone interview with Wachovia this Friday for a PB1 position. I was wondering if you could give any insight on what to expect from that, and the one-on-one interview? Also, have you started yet? If so, how do you like it??..Thanks |

NEEL2K in QUEENS, New York said: I have an interview as personal banker with Wachovia tomorrow Please help need guidance.? First off don't listen to that Regnum guy. There will always be people that hate on others for doing something good with their life. Second congrats on the new job. Since it sounds like you're new to Banking, I'll give you some quick tips on what Banks expect from Bankers (I've been a successful Banker now for over 4 years). 1) Sales sales sales. This is the one thing that throws off new Bankers and makes experienced Bankers quit. It's a fact of life now within the Banking world, and the only way one can be successful is to accept it as an everyday thing. If you can do this then you're off to a good start. I myself realize when I walk in each day that I have a sales goal to meet, and I strive to meet and surpass it because it's both satisfying to me and the company. 2) Networking. You'll have to learn how to build a clientele base as quickly and efficiently as possible, and this will include profiling all clients that walk into the branch, calling existing clients on the phone to schedule appointments, and calling/visiting new clients/businesses. This can work because most of my sales results come from this. The good news though is that any new customer next becomes an existing one, and it's much easier to create new business from existing customers than it is from new ones. Good luck. |
