What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Wachovia?

What do you like best about working at Wachovia? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

Does anyone know if Wachovia offers full benefits to part-time (20 hrs.+) employees?

I was offered a job for a position in their Securities division. It was a finance position and started @ $35K, a low salary for this field. However, banks pay very low compared to other industries. There VP's at banks only making $60K, so you will have to look beyond the money in this industry.

I honestly doubt that VP's make only $60k. Someone's selling you a bill of goods there. Keep shopping! How is one to afford the average $300,000 house in Richmond on that type of salary?

I had spoken to someone who worked for them in CLT and they said that the medical benefits were over $600 per month for the family plan. That is way high. He left and is paying about one thrid of that now.

I work in the securities, finance and I love it.Unfortunately now the AG Edwards merger is going to affect all of us in the home office and we do not know what the future is going to be.
It is a company where they are interested in the employees future and I was told when hired that during first year you learn and we teach, second year you give and work for us, third year start looking for something better to move up within the company of course if you are happy with them...and they management is suporting that idealogy..unfotunately nothing lasts forever and so..Wachovia will relocate to St. Louis and Richmond will loose big time...

most jobs are salary plus commission. what I think is the worst part about getting paid here, is not being paid you commission on time or at all. also getting wrong info about the employee referral program. I referred a person and have got a penny yet.

Being given the run around and given wrong information is very common here.

THE VPs do make around $60k. Please don't reply unless you know what you're talking about. BANKS hand out VP titles like it's nothing. Branch managers all have VP titles for the most part. It's the biggest joke to see these guys walk around like they are something important when the only reason the bank gave them the VP title is so they don't have to PAY THEM AS MUCH.

The branch managers do make about 60k. the FS (financial specialist) makes about 80 to 90k. they are paid more because the branch manager handles the typical banking stuff( deposits, checks, etc) and all else ( as little as opening up checking accounts) is done by the FS.

I am a remittance processor for the Christian Broadcasting Network and make about 30k. I started at 22K 3 years ago but I worked my way up to a level 3 and there's no where higher to go except management (which I don't want). Basically it's the same thing as a OS processor, we just save alot of money by doing the work ourselves instead having the bank do it for us.

Where do you work?

In new jersey, the hourly wage for a part time teller is $12 dollars an hour. You can earn more each month if you balance at the end of your day. As long as you dont go over or below $5 dollars in your cash box. Plus, if you make sales referrals "credit cards, cd, opening accounts", you will make extra cash. I think you can earn an extra $400 a month as for sales/referrals. Or just $100 dollars if you do over 1,000 transactions in a month with no difference and have a good service score "customer service".

make sure that you can pass those 6 & 63 test before you give notice to your current job , Wachovia is loosing the Financial Specialist left and right because of the mediocre pass rate.. You fail twice you are out the door the next day..

I was offered a position with Wachovia a few months ago for the Financial Center Manager position, and they offered me $50,000. A friend of mine was already working there in the same position and they were making $52,000. From what I heard it is between $50,000 to $54,000. If you have little to no experience expect to make in the high 40's. Tellers between $9.50 to $11.00 an hour. I pay $10 an hour just keeping it real. Teller manager around $32,000 to $36,000. Oh yeah wachovia doesn't play when it comes to Financial Specialist, pass your exams in 90 days or they will boot you through the door. During my initial interview for the FCM position there were 6 people applying for the FS position. The reason why they interview and hire so many FS is because only 33% pass within the allotted 90 day period. Financial Specialist earn between $38,000 to $80,000 a year it varies drastically based on your production level and your inner ability to sell.If you are offered an FS position expect to earn between $38,000 to $42,000 plus commission. Your licenses Series 7 & 63 and Life and Health insurance, remember pass in 90 days. I see alot of people disagreeing about the salaries remember that it depends on your region and the experience you bring to the table. You can't compare salaries in CA,TX,and PA to each other because it is like comparing apples to oranges. Hoped this helped everyone.

Mark J. Try not to worry about your commission just worry on paaing your exams. Seriously if you fail it is grounds for termination. There is no answer to your question because you only get commission if you are a high producer hitting your goals. No goals No commission. But seriously though you can make an additional 10,000 to 20,000 if you are a good sales man.

I work for wachovia and I am in the training still It is a long long long process. My point is to tell you that you can pass the series 6 and 63 without a problem I did it on the first try and I am a stroke victim that did not even open the 63 book until the day before I took the exam. The reason why people did not pass and were fired is because they did not take it seriously. It is self study and it takes dicipline. you can not expect to skate through it. You have to read it 24/7 until the day of your exam, do the practice exams on the computer and in the book and listen to the cd's when ever you are in the car. They give you all the tools to pass the exam trust me. You can do it, but you have to realize that you are not going to have a life until all 4 exams have been passed. It isn't hard if you prepare. out of 11 people in my class only 6 are still with us, but I know it is because people did not take it seriously...
