So since this forum is about layoffs is there any news out there that anyone knows about the merger. I'm interested in what job mapping and salaries will look like when we flip over to Wells. I'm interested in what will happen to branch employees like FS's, FCM's, TM's and Tellers. I know alot of people see this forum, because when you google "wachovia layoffs" its the first thing there. So lets start getting some employees to get some posts out here so we can help keep each other informed. This is what I've heard so far which could all be rumors. I'm sure Tellers will be fine. I think Teller managers will have a hard time finding a home after the merger. Wells really doesn't have a "Teller Manager Position" And most TM's aren't qualified to be an assitant manager. Heck most of our FCM aren't qualified to be an assitant manager. FCM's will map over but I'm sure most will be fired because hardly any of them have any sales experience which is the wells model for the manager. Most FCM's that I know can't even explain how an IRA works so it'll be a little tough. As far as the FS position I have heard that they would map to Personal Banker II, Business Relationship Manager, Private Banker or a Store manager. From what I seen so far their pushing the FCM's for alot of accountablity(well more than before). FS's are being pushed to be unethical used car salesman pitching free checking accounts with every package that you can think of. Same old same old for the tellers and TM's. Oh and we're closing out cd's so fast it's not even funny. The rates that we have are horrible. |

That is the Wells Fargo influence. You are about to enter big brother in the flesh. WF is an evil empire. It is not if you are one of the lucky brain dead individuals that do not care about people and treat them like a number. I took WF branch management training. The mock branch they had us run was based solely on numbers. It is the business we have chosen. Run, find a job that will not kill you in your 50's and enjoy life. |

Looks like the $h*t is starting to hit the fan this week. FCM's yesterday, TM's today and FS's tomorrow. Wonder how many will get demoted after all this. |

They claim that there not going to cut salaries, but they can cut them up to 15% and not pay a severance package. |

I am not a branch employee but work in one of the customer information centers. we are waiting too. It changes from one day to the next. They say we will hear something by the 15, it comes and it goes and then they say by the 30. Please just tell us something so that we can go on with our lives one way or another. This has been a wrenching year in banking. I loved my job and career but now I jsut want to know if I have one. Do you guys feel the same? |

Well I am a rookie teller, lees than a year, but yes knowing more would be helpful. I was hired by Wachovia, will Wells keep all of us tellers? Those kind of questions. Who will be our managers? Pay change ahead? Hours of work change? |

Yes, we now know at our branch (store) it will be Monday before we know. Tomorrow we will now for sure about our FCM and TM at least, not sure about FS though. |

Your FCMs and TM's can prepare to be screwed. Most of the TM's were demoted to Lead Tellers or CSM1 positions and only a few managers were given store mgr positions. Wachovia/Wells has upset a lot of people. |
