I have been trying to get a job at Wachovia for a while now. I moved to Atlanta Georgia and had applied to almost every FS position available in the Atlanta and vicinity but no calls. Now, I am wondering, do I need to go to one of the branches and talk to a branch manager? I already talk to one manager, she storngly recommended me to aplly online, and I told her I recieved no response then she asked me I should get my resume, so I did. Now, I am not sure if she did this just so I can get off her back, or is this the way things really work? Now, as far as experiene goes, I was training at MetLife for 6 months but quit because they never wanted to pay me. I am series 7 and 66 licensed, and have a bachelor degree is Business administration. How do they hire? and how can I apply? anyone????? P.S please give me some feed back for working other banks as FS around Atlanta area and how to do that, I am open to almost any suggetions Thanks for reading this long post. From a confused career seeker. |

Im not in your area but I do work as an FS. Talking to the branch manager does not do much. Unlike other banks, the branch manager is not the hiring manager nor will he/she be your manager. Wachovia always makes you apply online first. Then a recruiter will contact you and hire you for a "cluster". Then you go to training and once you get through it they assign you to a branch. The best thing I think you can do is go into a branch and ask who the recruiter is for the Financial Specialist position. Get the correct spelling of their first and last name. Email that person. The email address is firstname.lastname@wachovia.com |

So I was in training from May til October 07 and started in the branch in October 07 the day before conversion. The training is pretty thorough. Although, its so different for everyone. I came into this position with a lot of experience in banking. I was a teller years and years ago, I worked in operations, as a manager, in financial services... so I feel like it wasnt that hard for me to fit in well with this position. I was in training with people with just a sales background and no banking and they seemed to be struggling the most. |
