Did I blow the interview?

I interviewed at Walmart this morning. I signed a form authorizing them to contact past employers. I was asked a series of work situation questions and answered them with mostly genralizations of past experiences and how I handled the situations in a way that got the point across. The interviewer seemed intrigued with the answers and I thought I was doing fine. After finishing the questions, she told me they would be interviewing another candidate in two days and for me to call and see who they might be choosing. Strange...You would think they would call who they choose. Or maybe they are testing my enthusiasm.

Is there typically more to a Walmart interview than the work ethic questions? Did they cut me off short? Or is the next step for them to contact past employers? I've heard interviews at Walmart typically take 2 hours with drug screening and all. I was never asked to go in for a test.

In a nut shell, the interview smelled too short and sweet and I feel I was cut off. Or am I reading in to things too much?

When i was interviewed in 2005 i was asked about myself, several situational questions and like 1 or 2 ethical ones...mine was a 2 part interview. 1st one was done by the Personnel lady and the 2nd by the assistant manager of the dept i would be working in and after the 2nd part i was hired on the spot and sent for drug screening...so i guess every store is different so if you're still interested just reapply although i've been told they have company-wide hiring freeze right now.

Guide

They could be testing you to see if you follow-through and are dedicated. Send a thank you card for the interview and follow-up when they ask you to. A lot of companies' interview processes have changed in the current economic climate.
