I am asking for everyone's opinion on working for Wal-Mart. The reason why I am asking is because I am curious, but mainly I want to know how it is working at this company.

Now, technically, I am a Wal-Mart "Courtesy Associate" but I have not worked a single day (with the exception of orientation) because my start date is being pushed back constantly. Simply put, I'm wondering is it worth it waiting, or should I start considering applying elsewhere?

That sounds weird. Try calling the Personnel Dept at the store you'll working at or go there in person. I worked at Wal Mart for 2 1/2 years and i had my orientation and started the day after for training.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. You have a super flexible schedule. You stay busy most of the time (depending on the department). The health insurance was only like $50 a month for an individual and it was offered. We got yearly bonuses depending on the stores success. You get annual leave and sick leave after a year. I worked there for 4 years when I was a college student and it was OK. I'm not sure why others have had such horrible experiences' it just wasn't that bad and there's opportunity for you to move up if that's what you want. For an entry-level job to start building experience it's great. When I worked there people had to try to get fired. If you stole or didn't show up for 3 days without calling you were fired.

There are quite a few negative comments. It is good to see some positive feedback.
