antiquedi said: I work in a back office in Chatsworth. WE have transfered alot of jobs to India, Costa Rica and the Philiphines, People have been really sad to see our Jobs going to other countries. The last year has been really bad . We were not sure if we were still going to have a job or not. They are moving alot of postions to Texas. We were told in Jan that for the time being we are going to have a job beacause now they are going to have dual sites for our jobs. I don't really buy it as the bank is really hurting for money and we lease the buildings we are in. I think they will get rid of us as soon as every thing transfers over and they are trained. Oh yea buy the way we donot have enough in the budget to train them in person so we will do it OVER THE PHONE!!! I use to really love my job but they have taken away alot of perks we had. They have taken away the gift of stock at 5,10,15,20 years. WE donot have a Cafe to eat at. The activity store is gonebut we can by discount tickets in the building next door or online . It is really a sad place now. I donot know how it is in the FC's . I think it is a little different beacuse of the housing market so they are really trying to have the reps Cross sell. I think in the Fc it also depends on your manager and you co workers they can make or brake you. Also I think tehy need to train the reps more in the FC's I really believe they don't and I do beleive our customers pay the price and to me that is wrong.I have been Blessed with great co workers. No comment on management. I hope this helps .

I also used to work on (what's left) of the Chatsworth Campus. WAMU was an awesome place to work before some key defections (Deanna Oppenhiemer, Craig Davis) and 1 addition (S. Rotella). I worked on the campus and later in a couple different Financial Centers. too many branches stationed too close together. They cannibalize each other.

Be careful when leaving WAMU employment. After 7 years with the company as a highly productive employee I gave my two week notice. They didn't pay me for the two weeks and I learned that Mike Patterson had that option and the HR department would back him up. Mr. Patterson receives his commission income based upon the efforts and funded loan volume of others and when I decided to leave, it was going to negatively affect his income. This was his way of "Pay Back." WAMU is getting away from Mortgage Lending and their lack of advertising for mortgage loans reflects that. To earn a living, those in mortgage lending choose between lower income or leaving the company. It's too bad WAMU creates such "Bad Faith" when a person leaves.

Hello everyone,

I am Scott a third year business finance major at SJSU, recently come to realize the importance of having banking/financial experience prior to my graduation. I've been applying to WAMU for several teller positions at different locations yet time and time again I hear no response. My hope is to gain insight into the best means of obtaining an interview and ultimately a staff position.

Look forward to everyones responses.

Sincerely,
Scott

Soctt sorry to hear you have not received any response. Did you go into the branch? Did you speak to the manager ops supervisor? I can give you the FC managers name it might work better that way. It takes forever for the Human resorce rep who is responible to fill the postions to get back to you.It is the sameway for us who are already employees . I don;t know what the hold up is. So you are going to San Jose State? My daughter graduated from there and her boyfriend was on the football team. Good luck let me know if you need numbers.
