Christopher DeOliveira in Fresno, California said: I just had a group interview for a teller and the recuiter said that the next step of the process would be to be contacted by a branch manager. If we failed the group interview we would receive an email stating that we were not qualified for the position and that we could re apply in 6 months. It has now been 2 days since i have interviewed at wells fargo and im hopefull of going through the next step because I haven't received the decling email. I was wondering on average how many days did anyone receive this email? I just want a general idea of how long people waited before receiving the decling email so I can gauge whether or not im going to receive a call from a branch manager. Thank you guys for your help.

Don't know how long they take to decline, but they called me for 2nd interview with Branch Manager after almost a week, so sit tight and wait :)

Thanks for your comment it was very helpfull. I sure hope that wells fargo isn't one of those companies that leaves you hanging for a while questioning whether you have the job or not. I would like to know right away whether or not im going to be considered at wells fargo or not you know so I can plan my job search accordingly.

Luckily the recruitor at my group interview supplied us with her email address. I emailed her on Monday and i'm hoping that she eventually returns the email because I really want to know at this point if I passed the group interview and they are considering me for a branch manager interview or if I didn't pass the group interview. I've been reading around and alot of people are saying it's a waiting game and to be patient. I sure hope that's all it is.

I actually had a group interview in Fresno California. The recuitor did recruiting for all of the central valley and central coast. I have some hope because she told us if we weren't considered we would receive an email. I haven't received the email which is great but I also haven't received a response from the email I sent her either. I'm just sitting here waiting like everyone else on this forum has. I literally wasn't even expecting to be able to make it to the group interview and yet I made it. Soo I still have faith yet im not expecting to get a branch interview but that would be nice.

i interviewed in fresno,ca for group interview and then got a call back for interview with the branch manager but when i went I had to interview with services manager. Got a call again to go in the next day to interview with the another manager. I am confused as to where the process is taking me. Is it positive or negative that i'm being interviewed so much ? Would be so much better if i get this job. Please comment if you have some information on my situation. Thanks.

The fact that you are getting interviews is amazing. I wouldn't be worried about having multiple interviews at all! I wish I was in your shoes as to being called for a second interview after the group interview. Jas what date was your group interview in Fresno because mine was Tuesday December 28th and I still haven't heard from a branch manager about an interview and I also haven't received the rejection letter that the recuitor said we would receive if they didn't want to consider us anymore. Wish i could help you out Jas but you seem to be luckier then i am. How many days after your group interview did you get a call from the branch manager to do the second interview?

I'd like to say this forum was extremely helpful I felt very confident today because of the post on this forum. I knew what to expect. The group interview went pretty much as some of you stated. There were managers from different branches there and the recruiter asked everyone to stand up and tell a little bit about ourselves, why WF, where do you see yourself in 5 years, do u speak any other languages and are you looking for FT or PT. We went around the room and everyone spoke after that they asked if we had any questions (& we did) then it was over. The recruiter said she would contact everyone tonight to let us know if we were selected to move forward and thank God, I got my call to move forward!!! I wish you all the best!!!

I interviewed with two service managers on two consecutive days. I wonder how long do they take to get back to you. I think the interviews went well but I still want to make sure if i got it or not as soon as possible so that i can plan accordingly.
Please reply about how long will it take after interviewing with the branch managers. Thanks.
Thanks Christopher for your replies and thanks for the encouragement. I had group interview in first week of december in fresno,ca.You should wait for sometime.
Good luck.

Oh wow Jas so you have been waiting a couple of weeks longer than I have. Because like I said my first group interview was on the 28th of December thats a couple of weeks after yours. This just seems to be a big waiting game and the excitment of working for Wells Fargo makes it difficult to wait. I sure hopeI get a call back from a branch manager. If you go to the career section of the wells fargo website there are teller positions still opening in Fresno Ca which gives me some hope I will get a call back. Lets just hope Jas we can nail this.

I am soo sorry to hear that. Did you ever get a chance to interview with a branch manager or did you receive the denial email after going to the group interview? How many days passed before you received the denial letter? The reason I ask is I too felt like i did a really good job at the group interivwe. I'm hoping they plan to call me for a branch interview.

I apply for a bank teller, this is how it went.

1. apply and got phone interview

2. group interview,Be yourself and dont be afraid. the only tip i can give you is be the 2nd or 3rd person to answer. If your last, lots of answer at the same time your nervous build up. i was the last one and i was so nervous i mess up bad. lucky i got a call. question varies from places to places. mine was, Tell me about your self, why wells fargo, strength and weaknesses. oh and the main thing they want to hear is SALES! SALES! SALES!

3. 4 hours after the group interview, i got a call for a 1 on 1. I was less nervous since it was a 1 on 1. interview question was more indept about yourself and work experience. I been waiting for my 3rd interview. wish me luck

Hello there, I applied for a Teller position at wells fargo and I just had an interview this past wednesday the 18th jan, 2011 in Dallas. We had just one recruiter and she said something like they will call us back the following week Wednesday for a one-on-one interview with the managers if we qualify. I am so scared because many applicants had alot of experience and professional degrees, I was the only person with no professional degree and 1yr sales/customer service experience. Is it possible that we all are going to be called or can I be really considered for this position? Help plzzz Thank u!

When I went in for my group interview, my recruiter said we were not competing against each other. The group interview is just to see if you are qualified enough to have a branch interview. I don't have a professional degree, just a few years of retail experience. 2 days after my group interview, I received a call for a branch interview. So, good luck to you. :P

Were you at the group interview at the Wells Fargo on Barranca street in West Covina? I was there yesterday, they had a group interview session.

They don't really have a set number of people that they want to hire in mind; I heard that if you qualify then they will put you in one of the five locations that you picked from the list.

Always have questions to ask at the end of the interview. For example, "On your website, it states that Wells Fargo has contributed over millions of dollars to support local schools and nonprofits. Is there an opportunity at this particular branch to be a part of this great service?" Basically just showing that you're interested in the bank and that you've done your homework. During your interview, don't forget to smile. That's what tellers are all about. They are the face of the bank and managers want tellers that are pleasant and polite with their customers. Tell me about yourself question is not a personal question. Try to avoid I like to go out and have fun, I enjoy drawing pictures, blablabla you get the idea. This is the chance for you to tell them how you are qualified for the job. For example, "I have had experience dealing with customers. I am great with numbers and I have always had in interest in math. blablabla."

I didn't have time to write a thank you note because the manager who interviewed me said she will let me know within like 3 days if I got the job or not. I lived out of town and by the time she received my letter in the mail, I would have known if I got the job or not already so yea...I didn't send a thank you letter to my interviewer. They offered me the teller job but I took another offer. :)

Ah, I'm so nervous! Had a recent group interview (9 people!) for a PT Teller position at WF and my mind drew a blank. I basically repeated a sentence that I started twice, but I was able to finish it. I feel horrible about it. I was able to answer all the questions until the end because truthfully, I wasn't exactly where this job would align with my future goals. I did mention experience and knowledge and my goal for an MBA.

I wish I had read this forum beforehand! I'm glad I found this thread - better late than never! Out of the 9 of us, only 4 (including myself) wore a full suit and dress professionally. I'm waiting for a call back - the interviewer told us we would either get a personal call from here within a week or get an email of rejection.

In terms of interviews, I did wear a full, coordinating suit. I'm worried about my looks because even though I am 23, my last employer asked me "are you over 18? You must be over 18 to work this job". Apparently, I look very "youthful", despite wearing makeup (minimal to look professional).

Hi! I applied for a teller position via internet about a week ago. I had received a phone call about 3 days later that basically asked about my work history and examples of sales I made. Then they set me up for a phone interview which I did today. They basically asked me most of the same questions as they did the first time they called. Well, now I have a face to face interview next week! Is the face to face interview considered the group interview or do I not have to do the group interview here. Also, I'm really nervous because of my background. I had a possession charge felony but it was recently sealed. I heard that they can still see that on the background check...Will this keep me from getting the job? Also, what about credit checks? I am so nervous and I really want this job.

mizzkarisasue - Well for the teller position, usually there's three interviews.
- First interview on the phone where they screen you to see if what you posted online is correct (ask you a few questions about where you work) and how you overcome difficulties, etc. Basically, they screen you to see if you actually have experience or meet the bare minimum requirements.
- Second interview should be with the HR hiring/recruiter. This should be the group interview, but maybe it depends on your city? This can make or break you, since you're competing against other applicants. Then you either will get a call back (good) or an email (bad). If they tell you to meet up at a branch, then most likely they think you are fit for the position.
- Third interview will be with the branch manager. This will be face-to-face, one-on-one. I was a bit nervous on this, but I'm still waiting to see if I got the position. They will ask you a lot more questions about how you would deal with things. Seriously, I wasn't prepared, but the branch manager said "good" and "that's what I would like to hear". Remember to dress professionally, speak slowly and clearly, and as always smile. This is where your real personality shines through.

As for the charges, IDK anything about it, but hopefully someone else will chime in with an answer! Don't lose hope. Background checks will vary, so there's no clear-cut answer (based on the other thread).

BTW yes but I love wearing heels! I just want to make sure that it is interview-safe to wear a neutral-colored (nude/tan/brown/black) shoe to an interview.

I got an interview tomorrow as well, I'm very excited, but nervous because I really feel if I am able to get this job it would be a step forward as I pursue my degree in Accounting. I'm a guy how should I dress up for the group interview? I know I have a lot of hard answering to do since I don't have bank telling experience and some cashier experience.

Shockingly I did better than I thought, I mean the questions they asked i felt I could have answered alot better, but after the group interview about 3 hours my recruiter send me an email and said after the group interview and review of your resume, you meet the qualifications they are looking for, they said when they have an opening at the branch for an interview they would call me or email me to schedule a one-on-one interview with the branch manager. I was very proud of myself today. I wonder how long its going to be until I get that one-on-one interview.

emstarr21 - trust me, it's going to be a waiting game. I had my group interview about 3.5 weeks ago, and even got a call back. It took about 3 weeks to finally have an interview with the branch manager. Just remember that there are other potential candidates, so you really need to nail the first branch interview you get. I also felt like I could have answered some questions better, but the fact that they call you back means that you are part of the pool of people that they want. So congratulations on that! They use these interviews to filter out who they really want. Good luck :] BTW sorry for not responding quick enough, but as you can tell, the group interview is pretty straight-forward. Please do your research about some information about wells fargo in advance in case they ask about it (yes, even for a teller position).

RaySR - If you look through this thread, some have stated the exact questions that were asked. Mostly along the lines of (from what I can remember):
1. about yourself (previous jobs), goals, why the teller position, strength/weakness (?)
2. How you were able to overcome a difficulty in workplace. How you meet or have met sales goals, etc. How you deal with customers and stuff.
3. How this job will overlap with future or set career goals. More like what you hope to get out of this job

Lastly, don't be too nervous. They want someone who can "grow" with them. You don't necessarily have to be the best of the best (i.e. with a lot of experience), but they like to see that you're the type who won't give up, and is quick-thinking.

I applied online and within a few hours I received an email asking me to call a 800 number. I just had my group interview today.

About a week ago, I filled an application online. Within an hour I received an e-mail with an 800 number. It's a phone screening so they will ask you questions like 1). Describe a specific situation where you helped a customer; I made the person on the other line laugh so it went smoothly. She put me on hold and when she came back, she said she had a group interview the next Wednesday.

I had the group interview today and it went well. It can be intimidating but I think if you just calm yourself and be confident, your answers will come out. Here are the things they ask.

1) You have to "sell" the person seated next to you to the interview. Bring up their background, employment history, education, and be very upbeat and cheerful. "This here is Lynne everybody. I wanted to introduce her because I think she'd make an excellent candidate for the teller position. Just a little background on Lynne, she is originally from _____, she moved here in _____. She is newly married and is expecting. She has over 10 years of experience, etc."

2) Describe a time you achieved a sales goal and did you receive special recognition from it.
ALWAYS say you met and exceeded your personal goal as well as the company's goals. That lets them know you like to always do better.

3) Describe a time where you went above and beyond to satisfy a customer.
Pretty self-explanatory.

You then learn about the teller position. She will be in contact with you over phone or e-mail within a few days.

Shake hand firmly and thank them for the opportunity. I called the branch I interviewed at and asked for her e-mail address so I could send a thank you note. THANK YOU NOTES SHOW A LOT. DO IT!

I got a call 30 minutes after I sent my note saying they want to invite me back for a second interview. So, fingers crossed :)

JUST COME PREPARED. DRESSED IN BUSINESS ATTIRE. BRING RESUME, FOLDER, PEN, WATER, ETC.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you all could give me your opinion! I applied the other day online to Suntrust bank Teller position. I did the online assessment that same day and called HR manager. She said she would call me back and let me know if I passed. She did. I passed and she did the prescreening over the phone right then. Shen then told me that She would like me to do an interview with the asst. branch manager and the teller coordinator. That is today at 2pm. I am trying not to be nervous or study the questions because I tend to think I do better without studying, just being myself. If I have gotten to this point, do you think I have the job pretty much or no? Anyone else applied for suntrust bank? Or any tellers in the state of GA? How much is starting teller pay? I am so nervous but so excited. I want this job so bad! Thanks everyone in advance!

i applied for phone banker position this is how it went may 24 was first day wells fargo posted the position i ran to a nearby friends house to apply in resume i made sure to put my experience and how i helped or performed at each company ie. ranked top 5 in company for 6 months straight stuff like that because they look at so many resumes u want something that will still out about you also they want to know how or what u sold at jobs phone banker position is about sales and customer service emphasis on sales so
1 applied for position with banging resume

I have been a nurse, a day care provider and a foster parent, so working hand on hand with the puble is a good thing to do.

I applied for a personal banker position with WF about 6-7 weeks ago, within 24 hours, i received an email directing me to a link to take a screening exam. I passed, which I was directed to contact their 800 number to conduct a brief phone interview. I was advised that I would receive a call or email for the group interview. 3 weeks later I was finally contacted about the group interview. There were 15 people in the room.(yikes!) Slightly intimidating but I feel that I carried myself very well. The recruiter was very sweet & made all of us very comfortable with our answers. Once the group interview was over we were told that one of two things would happen next. Either A: we would receive a rejection email by that Friday or B: we would receive a phone call from the branch manager the following week. Now, I havent gotten the email (yay!) however it's been 2 weeks & I'm starting to worry a bit. Has anyone experienced a 2 week (or longer) wait before getting a call for your final interiew?

(Side note: I did find this forum prior to my group interview. Everyone's tips & advice helped tremendously! I had extra questions that no one else asked, I made sure to be the first to raise my hand whenever the recruiter opened for questions, etc.)
