I'm going for an interview for a part-time teller position tomorrow, when they sent me confirmation of my interview date/time they sent interview tips. So I figured I'd share what they sent me. Not sure if everyone gets this now but here you go:

Behavioral Interviewing:
Past performance is the best predictor of future performance.
Behavioral interviewing involves asking about specific situations that occurred, what action the person took, and what the result was. By asking applicants to describe situations in which they have actually demonstrated the desired behavior, you can better determine if they are competent in the key job qualifications.

Comparing Traditional Interviewing to Behavioral Interviewing:
1)TRADITIONAL INTERVIEWING:
“How would you handle an irate customer?”
1)BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWING: i.e.(Wells Fargo would ask):
“Describe for me a situation in which you had to address an irate customer.”
“What did you say?”
“How did the customer react?”
“How did you resolve the situation?”

2)TRADITIONAL INTERVIEWING:
“What would you do if you had more work than you felt you could complete?”
2)BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWING: i.e.(Wells Fargo would ask):
“Tell me about a time when you had more work than you felt you could handle.”
“What did you do?”
“What was the outcome?”

3)TRADITIONAL INTERVIEWING:
“How comfortable are you giving large group presentations?”
3)BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWING: i.e.(Wells Fargo would ask):
“Talk about a time when you delivered a large group presentation.”
“What did you do to prepare?”
“What were your biggest challenges?”
“How did it go?”

Sample Interview Questions:
•What was the most creative approach you have used to make a sale? Describe the situation to me.
•What is the most innovative thing you have done in your current position?
•What specifically do you do to create a positive image of your organization with customers?
•Tell me about a time you helped a co-worker learn something new.
•Tell me about a si

Last line couldn't fit...
It's:
•Tell me about a situation when you had to adjust quickly to a change in your job. What was the impact of the change on you?

I applied for the teller position on Monday 07/18, then on Thurs 7/21 I got an email telling me to schedule a phone interview. I emailed back the next day 7/22 Friday, confirming a phone interview for Monday 7/25. I did the phone interview and at the end of it she scheduled my face-to-face with a store manager & a service manager for Thursday 7/28. At the interview I was told that they are reviewing other candidates and to expect notice by the end of next week. It seems pretty quick to me, but it all depends on the location I think. I've read on these forums that some people have had group interviews or more than one interview or weeks between call-backs, so I think its all subjective really. Good luck!

Well I didn't get hired, just got the email today... I have lots of customer service experience, a totally clean background, and excellent references from my former managers. Don't know why I didn't get a chance but at least the process was quick and I didn't have to wait weeks for someone to tell me no! I have one other location I applied at for Wells, I haven't heard anything yet so who knows. Goes to show that whether the process is long and drawn out or really quick you never know!
