How does Wendy's stack up against the competition?

Wendy's is going through a defining time in the life cycle of their business. Dave Thomas was such an integral part of the company, that it is difficult to make the transition to post Dave Wendy's. Speaking for myself, I've seen changes that Dave never would have allowed, primarily the DSG. Whether it's a good thing that the change is being made is debatable. Given the tight labor market, every bit of efficiency helps. It does take a defining part of the Wendy's experience away: we were the last remaining fast food joint that required skill to run the grill. That's no longer the case. Instead of moving toward long term highly skilled employees, we are moving towards short term, unskilled "churn and burn" style workers.
