What's the company culture at Western Digital?

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Western Digital?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Western Digital?

Extremely casual. Shorts, sandals etc.

Corporate culture is "Lord of the Flies".

Asian Slaveship. Tribal warfare. Lord of the Flies. You just jump in a survive. Manager will be of no help because they are too busy trying to survive themselves. They usually try to hook you up with a buddy but woe is you if the buddy doesn't like you. The best is if you have a buddy pull you in and they are the one who brings you up to speed. Very little is documented and most knowledge is tribal. The general idea is if you are not in the lab, you are not working. If you are in the lab, you better be producing. Your bench equipment is sacred. No one touches it. Once they plan to get rid of you, your equipment at your bench will start to disappear. Weird.
