Money SCAM!! Beware!!! In my case, I was too smart for them because I have had a similar scam attempted before, and figured out it was a scam before it was too late. They tried to get me for $2345. I was contacted by someone using the name of Steven Meek, then was set up through a yahoo email address and IM to speak with Robert Robertson. This is a different twist on the old Nigerian bank check scam. They want you to deposit a "cashiers check" they will send to you. The account number on that check is non-existent, it's a bad check. You are to cash it at your bank, or deposit it into your account and withdraw the cash. Your bank will cash it for you with no problem. Then, you are to send that money through Western union to their "software salesman," as you are buying the software the company is supposedly paying for on your behalf. By the time your bank finds out it is a bad check it's too late! Your bank will hold you responsible for the bad check they cashed for you, meaning you have already cost yourself the money to make the bad check good to your bank! That's right, YOU are responsible to pay the money back! You get screwed and they ride off into the sunset with your money! Beware!!!

Same here! I recently just got a request for an interview at 9am the following morning of April fools. Talk about a red flag. Oddly enough he just "happened" to be online at 6pm...and was "Available." No interviewer at an point should be asking you about who you bank with, ever!!!! This person(s) did, immediate red flag! The whole thing is fake! The name, the script, the site, the questions the interviewer asks, IT'S ALL FAKE! DO NOT GIVE THEM THE TIME OF DAY!

It's allllllll fake! I did a more extensive search online because they kept telling me to stay focused on the questions they were asking. No interviewer is going to just TELL you what to do, they will suggest it, but they won't tell you. It goes against interviewing etiquette.

does anyone know if Mr.David Carroll works at Wistron Corporation? He is doing an online interview, but he seems very unprofessional. I wonder is that a fraud ?!

Thank you for the answer, in advance.

Mary

It is Fraud! Do not go any further with that process! The biggest red flag was that they used an outdated messenger forum. If people really are interested in you they will find a more current version of software. Who even uses Yahoo Messenger anymore!?!?? NO ONE! So stay away, it is a SCAM, and everything about it is FAKE!!!!

The actual email contains the Indeed Logo.

This seems to indicate that dannalopezba101@hotmail.com placed a job position on Indeed for Purchasing Assistant - Pasadena, CA

Danna, then wrote me back talking about this fraudulent Scam using the email address: dannalopezba1016+49y@indeedemail.com.

So, the actual return email address is from indeedemail.com, I guess indeede s/b be a give-a-away?

Wow!!! I'm experiencing this currently, I had an interview through messenger with a Mike Anderson using the email address hrdesk900. The opportunity seemed great but as I am an educated woman the means of performing the interview process seemed sketchy so I thought I would do my home work, although I had no plans of cashing their check this thread gives me confirmation on what I was feeling. I actually expressed my concerns regarding the fear of a scam and this was the reply, Mike Anderson:‎

I'm 54 years old with three grandchildren. I prefer to spend what little time I have left on earth with my children, not creating elaborate Scam. I personally know how it feels to have your hard-earned money taken from you by some arrogant jerk. I cringe when I even hear the word Scam. I would never go so low as to get involved with any of that sort of shameful activity. I understand why you are feeling skeptical, as an average consumer, I would be hesitant as well. Don't let your skepticism get in the way of a truly promising opportunity for you 9:41 AM

Beware he is now scamming under the perception that he works for a Japanese company called Access or Worldwide Access. The scrip he is using is still the same only the company he's so called representing has changed.

I was just "hired" by Mr Mike Anderson,54 from Access (hrdesk1900 at yahoo).. glad I copy pasted some of the things said in chat and found this forum. They really need a way for people to flag these fake jobs as scams. Neither Indeed or Fita have a way to report the ad as a scam. It definitely makes me think twice before applying to another job. Instead, many more people will apply and possibly wire money to these heartless crooks. Luckily I was only scammed out of some of my time. As soon as they asked for my personal info I let them know it was game over.

I got a text message today from someone saying they are from ACCESS and looking to hire.. like someone else said, they told me that there was going to be a cashier's check and to deposit, cash and use western union for the software. I was sceptical from the start as he did all the interview via text message, and sent me an email after I asked for the company website. He gave me the Fremont address and I noticed it wasn't on the ACCESS global offices page. The name attached to the Email was Gary Lieberman, accesscomplc@yahoo.com. I am definitely NOT going to go ahead with this business.

I then received a message on shiftgig to have an interview with anera harrell through yahoo messenger. That was fishy, so I Googled her email / name and found this site.
Thank you for posting this information. But, how do we get the ad off indeed and shiftgig and how does she get caught?

I received an email today saying I too had landed an interview with Mr. Anderson using that mysterious yahoo email address. Same setup... to establish a yahoo account, add Mr. Anderson as a buddy... etc., etc. My instincts had me look up the company, displayed as "Janet Rosario" and that yielded nothing. No bad BBB report and no bad reviews anywhere. When I looked up the email address this thread appeared. I'm grateful to ALL Of you for adding your comments here and enlightening us... especially job seekers... on this scam. It's a shame people are trying to take advantage of those looking for work. Grammatical mistakes are a sure sign up front that a company may be a scam. You really have to leave your complete home address off online applications and look up company details before applying. All the best to everyone. Stay encouraged.

When the Bank finds out that it is a bad check, or that there is no money to cover the check, they will take the money away from your account and charge you a Fee called a DIR, (Deposit Item Returned), RDI (Returned Deposit Item), or a Deposit Return Item Fee.

...or maybe the bank will not catch it? ...LOL!

I was contacted by Mike Anderson after applying for a data entry position. He asked my age (which is illegal) and I didn't tell him. After promising me $30 an hour (alarm bell) he asked me 'how I would like to be paid' and WHAT BANK I USE?

I had a bad feeling about this since the beginning, luckily I found this page, thank you guys for the warning!! I've been through enough job interviews to know what's typical, but the thought that some desperate people are being taken advantage of makes me sick!

Indeed, please find a way to ban these people immediately. The phony address they gave me was 48371 FREMONT BLVD STE 101 FREMONT, CA 94538 USA, the e-mail address is Hroffice900@gmail.com. I know scams are common and hard to catch, but please be on the lookout.
