Do you work at Wyeth? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I had gotten one interview for a job at Wyeth in Quality Control.
After applying for several other jobs, I haven't got any more interviews. You need to work around the computer system and make sure everything fits in the text writing boxes good. Type the document in Word Pad, not MS Word, some symbols won't show up right when cut and pasting.

This group does not appear to work to get the best candidates; they are seeking to pick and choose candidates as their discretion. The Recruiters will not follow-up and they do not know what they are actually looking for in this role. There are good, Credible HR people that have in fact applied; but this group may be not looking for diverse candidates.

I applied direct to Wyeth-MA online and was flown out for an interview. They kept me in a holding pattern for 6 wks. and then sent a rejection letter. The position has been reposted 2x on their website and the search was expanded to other websites.
I seem to think that given the Pfizer lay-offs they are thinking they can net the so-called 'ideal candidate' at minimal salary.
I also heard from sources that Wyeth-MA does not compensate well, a surprise for a reputable biopharma companies in the expensive burbs of Boston. Wyeth-MA's loss.

I see the position for 'Communications Consultant' is listed for the Pearl River Site. If you put in for this job, which allegedly was filled, please be aware that they are really looking for someone with 2-3 years' experience. I have 25 years' and they completely wasted my time. I got stood up on the first phone appt. and they were 20 minutes late on the second. This is indicative of how they treat each other. They must have a lot of time to kill if they are willing to talk to someone who is vastly overqualified for what is essentially a gofer job. Just think about the potential for abuse when you get there, if you are 'lucky' enough.

I had the same experience. Although I thought I was the perfect fit for the job, I got a rejection letter stating that another candidate was chosen. 4 months later the same exact ad was posted!! Aren't those big corporations all liars?

Do be careful of MRI Ohio. Attempt to solicits information (married, children, age, etc) that would get a direct employer sued.

I applied online for an Account Manager's position with Wyeth. (Consumer Goods divison) Within a few days I received a call from HR. The HR person I dealt with was very professional and very kind. During my first round of interviews I met with five people. Interviewing at Wyeth is very intense. They use behavioral based interviewing. I was called back for a second round of interviews. This time I interviewed with three senior level people. Even though I thought I did extremely well during the interviews, I did not get the job. Even though I was very disappointed I still think my interviewing experience with Wyeth was a positive experience.

Absolutely right I got in through a relative, everyone in there had a relative or friend working in the company, they are looking for the IDEAL CANDIDATE AT MINIMAL SALARY and if something goes wrong like in my case (had an accident) They got rid of me no compensation nothing not even a thanks for all you did which we never paid your for!!!! Tried to escalate complait to the EHS Dept. in Uk and they wouldn't a name of the person talking to and even hung the phone on me!!!!!!!!!! that is the way they treat their employees. I had a special rise every year even the year of my accident and a letter complimenting my good work so I wasn't a bad worker. You do not want to work for them so much for their MISSION, VISION AND VALUES very very disappointing
