Harrasment by Yellow book on Craigslist

Yellow book sales people has called every time I repost an ad on Craig list. There is two sales people that call every time I post in Champaign Urbana IL. I have called the regional office in Effingham IL but the calls do not stop. I advertise in in other yellow pages. Yellow pages are the thing of the past except for reference material. One can not get a page to advertize cost effectively

I hate to say it, but if you state on your Craigslist ad that you DO NOT want to be contacted, then you need to GO OFF on the YB rep in a really nasty way. They are desparate for sales, and they make so many calls that they can't even remember who they've talked to and who told them no.

You have to be extreme so they remember you forever - be loud, rude, and just plain hateful when they call. I know it feels bad to ruin someone's day, but they won't "get it" otherwise.

I have they keep calling. Told the calling sales idot, called the main office Everyone says they have no bounderies so I posted here to get to them !!!!

Ok really Dave? It is sales. You are posting your listing on a free site, you also advertise in other areas as well. Of course you are going to get all sorts of calls related to the posting, and I am sure that the YB reps are not the only sales people calling you. I get so annoyed of people that get so mad about sales calls. You are a business as well, you need advertising, you need leads. It is all related. Im not sure what your business is but you cannot blame a person for contacting you to see if you would be interested in their product. That only means that they are doing their job. There are so many things that I disagree with about this company but people actually doing their job is not one of them. And as far as what Yellowbrix is saying, there is absolutely no reason to be that nasty with someone. Think of the time you have already wasted complaining about them on this site, you should really be out there working.

Egotistical sales people are getting pushed out of the sales business. If a person doesn't want to list or buy with your company record it. Call them once a year. Multiple calls to the same person. GETS YOU THIS PAGE FOR ALL TO SEE!!!!

Respect our decision is all we are asking!!!

As far as listing else where that is a choice the public has every right to advertise without being chased by hungry sales people. Calling multiple times is not good business

By the way I do this writing in my spare time. You sales people call during working hours wasting my time!!

Interesting Dave, you may want to think about taking some english lessons, or just some 5th grade grammer. Sure it is obnoxious when the same person calls you every week. But I do not think that is the case here. We have no database that we are recording calls through. Sales are being made by simply contacting businesses and informing them of our everchanging product line. Further more, how are you able to say that you are not interested if you have no idea what it is that they are offering? As far as this page goes, no one cares one bit that you are complaining on it. I find it amusing that you are wasting your time so I felt the need to reply.

We are doing our job...I am sure some people feel the same about you when you are doing your job. Not everyone in this world agrees with everyone. and let me tell you it is a joke to keep calling when someone acts like a jerk- sounds like you did. I would have every rep in the office call you if you acted like that to me.
Get a grip...simply tell them you are currently working with another rep or that you don't have the money. Don't act like a jerk!

Do you think they are throwing their money away because they just have soooo mcuh. No, they are getting results. Sure yellowpage usuage is down from what it was 10 years ago...but many of these advertisers are still seeing the results. But you already know everything so why am I telling you?

Wow Nancy I thought that you were dumb and then I read "try selling rap music". Now I understand, you are obviously very sheltered with little or no life experience outside of Carbondale, Illinois.

Nancy, by no means do you have any right to criticize anyone else’s spelling abilities. I'm just going to guess that you do not have much more than a high school education, if that. And considering geography, it was not a very strong one. So my advice to you is to stop complaining, and maybe take a moment to listen to people who are much more qualified to give you marketing advice then you will ever be able to provide for yourself.

Again, this shows just how ignorant you really are with statements such as "Again it doesn't take much dial phone & talk!". You obviously have no idea of what our positions entail, and quite frankly you will probably be out of business yourself by the looks of how uneducated you are when it comes to marketing your business.

The calls keep coming because the call center is not in IL. Plus you need to make sure it's yellowbook usa that's calling and not some other company with a similar name. I work for yellowbook usa and I know there are a few companies out there who have names very similar to ours. Also...the yellowpages are a not a dying breed. We are not desperate for sales. I made more than $100,000 last year in this dead economy. We call on customers because it's our job. We are entitled to make a living just like everyone else. Stop being to so damn ugly about it.

yellow pages advertising is still very strong as a business owner get used to be called by advertising reps lets face it there are plenty of consumers that do not even own a computer
