What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Zimmerman Advertising?

What do you like best about working at Zimmerman Advertising? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

AVERAGE STARTING SALARY $ 25,000 A YEAR. THEY PAY WELL BELOW INDUSTRY STANDARD AND LOVE TO GET NAIVE COLLEGE GRADS THAT THEY CAN OVERWORK, UNDERPAY AND TREAT LIKE CRAP. THEY REALLY HAVE NO PERKS-ESPECIALLY WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER AD AGENCIES. ACTUALLY, ZIMMERMAN REALLY IS NOT LIKE AN AD AGENCY AT ALL, ITS MORE LIKE A PRODUCTION HOUSE. THERE IS NOTHING CREATIVE GOING ON HERE AND THE BUILDING THAT HOUSES THIS PLACE IS IN VERY POOR CONDITIONS. ITS ALSO WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING SO THE WORKING CONDITIONS ARE PRETTY BAD. I CAN NOT THINK OF ONE THING GOOD ABOUT WORKING AT ZIMMERMAN OTHER THAN EVERY OTHER FRIDAY WHEN THE DIRECT DEPOSIT GOES IN. AS SOON AS THE ECONOMY CORRECTS ITSELF, I'M SURE PEOPLE WILL FLEE FROM THE PLACE IN WARP SPEED. THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF AN EMPLOYEE STAYING THERE IS 2 OR 3 YEARS TOPS. MOST GO ON TO BETTER PAYING JOBS WITH BETTER WORK ENVIRONMENTS IN PLACES THAT APPRECIATE THEIR EMPLOYEES.

soul allen is wrong about the starting salary - it's $24,000 - but right about everything else. they recently announced that they will no longer be having a company match on 401K, there is currently a salary freeze and a hiring freeze. bonuses are nonexistent. they have the worst dental coverage, NO vision insurance, you only get paid overtime if you are entry level and even then they make it really difficult to get and make you feel guilty for asking for it. the medical insurance is decent and you get 2 weeks vacation to start but you're lucky if they actually let you take your vacation days.

on a positive note, they do hire recent college grads with NO experience who otherwise would not be able to find work at any other agency. for someone who has no life outside of work who enjoys working unreasonably long hours for virtually nothing - zimmerman could actually be a good fit. as soon as the hiring freeze is lifted, people that fit that description should apply for job s so all the poor overworked employees can finally get a break.

and just so you know, HR hires buzz agents to post positive comments on these types of websites to balance out the honest comments like this one. so if you see a positive comment, they probably paid for it.
