I am currently thinking of joining ziprealty and would like some feed back from people who have had any experience with them

I am mainly interested in their commission structure and if the leads that the company provides for you are worth anything

I worked there for 6 months, they pay half the going rate, their management and training are inadequate and it was a terrible experience. Go with a good real estate company like ReMax.

Only 1 in 20 leads are good and their commission structure is half of industry standard.

One thing that one must remember is your Real Estate success is all up to you! You can choose to sit in an office and wait for the phone to ring(which is far and few between in this internet world)or you can become a master closer on leads that are provided.Not all leads will LEAD to a transaction but contact and taking the time for people always pays off eventually. My own personal opinion is people want or expect it all NOW as far as success goes. You have to work in this industry and perfect your style,plant the seeds and they eventually blossom!
I would much prefer to have leads filtered to me while sitting in my pj's then running around like a chicken with no head, dealing with tire kickers. Once you become a master at RE Sales you know immediately if a lead is just that!Remember, there is always someone looking to buy and someone looking to sell, perhaps today, right now or perhaps in the future, and everyone has their friends and family, so just take the time to be polite and people will remember that! As far as industry standards go (commissions) there are none, and Zip has a better way and approach to rates, plus they have FULL BENEFITS, 401 K, stock options,expense reimbursement, and you are an employee vs independent contractor which means NO SELF EMPLOYMENT TAX. The value for these benefits is incredible, so work what talents you have and the world CAN be your Oyster!Once you reach 75% you do not fall back and all your ordinary expenses are paid for and your marketing is done for you! Concentrate on marketing yourself!I have over 25 years experience in the industry and have worked with the best of the best as far as Franchises go and have also been independent, always spent a fortune on marketing and in the earlier days worked 100 hrs a week when there was no internet, and you had to go to the office even just to look at the mls books which only came out once a week, had to cold call, farm, do up time, and got no leads from companies in general.;o)

Hello, Gayle;
I'm thinking of joining Zip - just wondered how your last 5 months have gone?
They sound great, but I don't want to leave the security of a full time job without some realistic feedback.
Thank you.

I joined ZIP late last year. I came from a larger realty company and I can tell you that I really love Zip. The commissions are lower, but the benefits out way the commissions. I have already made the presidents list in just 11 short months. Stick to it and follow up on your leads. Good Luck.

I would like to know how things have been in 2008 with Zip. I am thinking of going over to them from my current brokerage.

11 months! That's great! I'm just joining Zip Realty now, I'm a brand new agent. I hope to have the same amount of success!
