What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Zurich North America? What do you like best about working at Zurich North America? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees? |

Great perks? I worked in the Tampa office for 6 yrs. The employees are very down to earth. The employees definitely use teamwork. Other than that...well, corporate steadily advises how GREAT the company is doing but when it comes to bonus time, it seems as though they took a huge loss or something because we never saw the numbers they saw. I can't honestly say that I've spoken to one employee who thought they were fairly compensated. |

Actually, compensation and perks really depend on what your job function is and whether you are a so called expense, or if you are a revenue generator. If you are going to work in claims or risk engineering at a company like Zurich, your perks and compensation will be average. However, if you work on the revenue generating side, such as underwriting, you will be compensated well and your perks will be good. Of course small commercial underwriters will make the least, middle market underwriters will be paid better and finally risk management underwriters will make the most. Its all relative though. Support staff, claims people and risk engineers will almost always make less than those on the underwriting side, however their salaries will correlate with the segment they support. |

Zurich just coldly laid off 600 people, destroying people's lives, I guess their record profits were not enough and they need more at the cost of burning out those that remain. If you are thinking of a career with Zurich, leave skid marks! |

More are coming. I would stay away. Insurance as a whole is not a good industry to get into right now with such a soft market and companies trying to stay afloat. |

I have been at ZNA for 19 yrs plus, was laid off once, came back and not sure if I will survive another lay off. Not a good atmosphere, but at least a job. |
