How to get a job at Comcast:

1). Visit www.comcast.com/careers
2). Click on "Search for jobs" or "Login/Register" midway down on the right hand side of the screen
3). Establish an online candidate profile and login information.
4). Search for desired career(s) within desired location(s) and read the job description, qualifications, etc,.
5). If desired, click on "Apply" at the top left hand corner of the job description page.
6). When you establish an online profile, be sure to complete ALL sections of the profile and DO attach a cover letter and resume. Also, be sure to release your profile to recruiters once you have completed your candidate profile. This opens up opportunities for you.
7). Check on the status of your job(s) applications every so often by logging into your profile via the website above. If it says "In Process", you are still being considered for the positon for which you have applied. At this point, the waiting game begins. Comcast Atlanta was very methodical throughout the hiring process here. It should read "Not Hired" if you have not been chosen for further consideration.
8). If you have been considered, most likely you'll receive an e-mail or phone call inviting you to take an assessment test of your personality and some position-related function, such as math assessment for Communications Technicians. Then, if you pass (you should find out immediately, if you fail, you have to wait six months before re-applying)you will be invited to an interview. Background checks and drug screenings are conducted if they choose to move you forward in the hiring process. For me, it was this simple (probably b/c of me background), but from what I have heard it was a little more complex for many people on here. (continued below)

I applied online 06.06.2010. On 06.10.2010 I received the call inviting me to take the assessments required for Communications Technicians. I passed that test on 06.15.2010. I had an interview two days later on 06.17.2010 and was recommended for hire by the two managers that interviewed me. A background check was conducted on me right after the interview. I was called on 07.09.2010 to be informed that I had been selected for employment (conditional offer) pending a negative drug screening. I took the drug test on 07.12.2010 and two days later on 07.14.2010 I received a call formally and officially offering me the position of Communications Technician, starting hourly rate of 12.25. I was scheduled for orientation and training. I start Monday 07/19/2010 and training the next day as a Communications Technician. Once I attend orientation, I will come back and update you all on pay, benefits, career advancement, nature of the work/business, company culture, etc,.

Sarasota Comcast is conducting a training class right now for the call center and there will be another one right behind this. Go to www.comcast.com hover over ABOUT click on CARRERS and then when that page loads on the right hand side you will see "COMCAST OPPURTUNITIES" and will be able to search for the local positions. The call center job isn't on there right now but should be on within a few weeks when this currrent training class is winding down. Currently there are 2 postings for Direct Sales Reps (field sales) and a Multi Dwelling Unit Inside Sales Specialist. Come on and apply the benefits are great! :)

If you are near Fort Myers, FL they currently have the Call Center position posted (Customer Account Executive) allong with a Traffic Specialist, Business Account Executive and MDU Inside Sales. :)

Comcast sucks
They hired me, after 10 years of applying now and then.
Invited me in for and interview with 2 guys, then into a 2nd interview with some corporate douche.
He hired me, sent me to take the urine test, which I passed.
They followed with some calls about former employers, all of who I spoke with about the matter, and told me they said many good things.
Then...I get an email saying I am awaiting approval from corporate before I start training/orientation.
I am on the verge of filing a discrimination claim with the eeoc.

Not true I just got hired at Comcast and i'm absolutely not a good ole boy. It didn't take them that long to call me for and interview either. But it takes a while. I apply over the website, then received an email with a test of more that 125 questions, difference sometimes and other times same questions in difference orders. Then I received a call from a Comcast Recruiter who made me an phone interview, then she call me back the same day to schedule an interview with a supervisor. I take it and since that, never heard anything of Comcast, has been 2 weeks since that.

What's the time that I'm suppose to wait until the next step ??

Thank You

When interviewing for any company your attitude makes a huge difference. Comcast is in fact hiring like crazy right now for a braod spectrum of positions. You cannot apply online at my website, but if you have questions send and email to and put in the subject, looking for a Comcast position. My staff will pick up the email and see if they can assist you.

Comcast called me this morning after I filled out an application last night. I had no idea they were going to interview me right then and there! They asked me a few questions and I messed up on a few. I can't believe that I couldn't explain to them where to find a web address. I just wasn't expecting it. The interviewer told me she will forward my questions to HR department. Does this mean I messed up???

I found an opening for Comm Tech 1 on careerbuilder.com. Applied through Comcast website 5/14/2012 and had an email the next day to take an assessment test. I took the test online yesterday (5/15/2012.) I'm awaiting another email or phone call to see if I proceed with their next steps. Does anyone know what the next step is? I too have applied on and off again with Comcast for a few years now and never heard a scratch from them so I'm kind of excited this time that I actually had a response and a test this time. I just don't want to get my hopes up.

I agree seems to me like when the truth is out about hiring and the process, maybe an employee comes on and explain in a big huge paragraph that they got hired in less than a week. That goes for most of the companies when applicants tell their story on how the business they applied for work.

I beleive that they have to post job listings to show their Ratio of employment openings ever year for their statics, but in reality most hire within the job or no someone that works there to get their foot in the door.

I have a recruiter who called me and sent me to a Comcast interview for inside sales/CSR. A couple of days before the interview I went online and applied for the position and took the assesment test. The assesment was comprised of a virtual call center scenario and a big long personality test; no math, no English, no hard skills.

I went to the interview; a group interview in which they told us about Comcast and sold us the job. Then we interviewed individually for about 15 minutes. My recruiter emailed me late that afternoon and let me know they wanted to hire me.

A week later she called me and said they changed their mind because of my assesment. I have sucessfully worked in call centers before and am fast on a computer so I can't imagine that failed that portion of the assesment. I have a BA degree from a university and have numberous tests and assesments for other jobs that were a lot harder then Comcast's. So apparently I have the wrong personaity, in spite of having a proven track record of success.

Comcast has taken out the human element in the hiring process. They are letting a computer, a machine, have a voice over and above the humans. Nice work, Comcast.

As a side note, I have worked with the same system they work with in the call center. Have you read 1984? Enough said. Yes, I'm irritated with their system but a little relieved that I don't have to work there.

On December 17, A Comcast recruiter contacted me and asked me to do an assessment online, I then completed it right away. The next day i called her back, and she gave me an over the phone interview and said i did very well and set me up for an in person interview on Dec 20 @ 330pm. I got to my interview 30min early. Everything went well. A day after i contacted my recruiter and asked her what were the next steps, she said it could take a while due to the holidays and getting through all of the interviews, she did say i should get a call back for the job. She also mentioned that training starts on the second week of January 2013. I haven't heard anything yet. I call her and leave her voice mails but hasn't returned my calls....is it that shes been off due to the holidays or what?

Can someone explain the next steps or what i should expect? I really need this job :/

They will more than likely be getting back to you very soon. I was in the same boat, went to an info session with a group of others and was told interviews would not be held that day as planned. The lady that gave the presentation assured all of us that we would have a chance to interview but the managers were overwhelmed with work and plus it was the holidays. I had gave up on getting a call back, but received an email the other day to come for an interview, so I would say give them a minute they are probably just getting caught up.

I applied for a job at Comcast a while back and am worried about the criminal background check. I was arrested for a misdemeanor a few years ago but successfully completed a pretrial diversion program and the charges were dropped. In addition, the court sealed the arrest record which entitles me to honestly say I have never been arrested. The arrest record can only be unsealed via court order. Will Comcast dig that deep? I really need this job. Any advice will be extremely appreciated and thanks so much!

So I have been applying as a com tech since I left the Army, roughly 3 years. The first interview I landed with Comcast was a group interview. At one point we were all asked "why should I hire you and not someone else." This seemed pretty unprofessional to me but whatever, I needed the job. I passed the interview (as did everyone else at the time) and took a psych/assessment test. After which I got the Dear John letter.

Skip a few years of post 911 GI bill...I received an email inviting me to take a test for the company. I had nothing else to do so I took it and within 3 days got a call from a recruiter who set me up with a face to face interview. I went into the interview and was told that I did really well by the two supervisors I met with. They told me I would be hearing from them next week (this week now) with an offer or with news that I didn't get the position. Its almost been one week and I'm stressing out over the phone call.

The hardest part for me to understand is how it took me three years of applying to get this far in the process. I worked as a communications specialist in the Army and have great customer service history. Oh well, I'll report back here as to what happens to me when I find out.

So to update, it turns out the location I was interviewed at had a hiring freeze. The recruiter called me three days after I got the letter and set me up for an interview at a different location. I was interviewed with a few others and all went well. We then interviewed with another supervisor and were told we would be hearing the decision soon. The next day I was given a preliminary offer based on my background check and drug test. Two days after that I received the drug test information. I picked a location and took the drug test the next day as they were closed by the time I could go. I just finished my background check paper work and within 12 hours was asked for a copy of my diploma and some W-2s. I'll post back when something new happens.

When they say "must be able to work nights and weekends" - they mean it. I worked 60 hour weeks on average, and up to 70 hours during budget season. I actually got repremanded by my boss for having to leave at 5:00 every night to pick up my infant son at day care because my wife worked 2nd shift, and was also ridiculed by my colleagues behind my back. If you have a family and care about seeing them regularly, do not work in Finance.

Hello all, I am in a little bit of a pickle and would like some help/advice. I am currently in the hiring process for a CAE1 position with Comcast. I have already received my "acceptance" letter and they are sending me the information for the background check and drug screening. I know I don't have anything to worry about as far as background and drugs, however; the education part has me a little worried as I am not actually sure if I ever officially "graduated" from high school. And what I mean by that is, I know I walked at my graduation ceremony, but I never received my actual diploma. I never really worried about it much until now. And I'm worried about it because it is a possibility. I was missing some credits before graduation and I had to work really hard to gain them in order to graduate, but I mean, they did allow me to walk at graduation? After graduation, long story short, I got married, became a certified dental assistant, and worked. Having a high school diploma was never an issue, but the Comcast background check seems so scary and now I'm worried I never graduated and will miss out on this job. Do you think they check high school records or just college? I went to Everest college and whether or not they checked my records I have no clue. Judging by the type of school they are, I don't think they did. And I don't think my current employer did either. What should I do if I didn't actually graduate?

A few minutes later, I received another email telling me about the next step in recruiting was the WOTC questionnaire. I'm really confused. Am I miving forward in the job hiring process or not, or was it a mistake?

I was sent that e-mail too after my job offer, maybe the survey is just for all applicants? I would definitely check with your recruiter or contact someone about your status. You can also check the status of your application on the Comcast careers site.
