Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at lifetime fitness? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at lifetime fitness? |

Life Time is experiencing major growing pains. Training and development of team members is extremely poor, which I believe is due to the inexperience of senior management. Most high-level directors in Life Time have been there since the beginning with no outside experience and are trying to manage this growth spurt on their own, and it shows through their massive turnover (the positions aren't open because of expansion/promotion, it's from resignations). It's a classic case: they'll wise-up in a few years and hire some outside talent to bring training, retention and development to the forefront, which will then turn them into a "Premier Employer," as stated in their vision. They are also very, very money driven. Club employees buy their own uniforms, receive no holiday pay, no vacation time if a part-time employee, and receive only cost-of-living increases because performance pay is "not in the budget." -this was told to an employee about why they didn't receive a raise. They increase rates within the clubs, telling members that they're doing it to limit the membership growth within that club, when actually, they never lower their sales quotas, and have already exceeded club capacities. Work for Life Time now? No. In about 5-10 years? You bet. Especially if Akradi steps down as CEO. |

100% correct, Just left the company and if you'd like to work endless hours for little pay and even less thanks then this company is for you. They make countless changes to their pay structure (in sales) and de-commission their membership advisors in all sorts of ways and in a sneaky manor (small little emails that can add up to over 4k in bonuses/year). The initial training I had was very good but after that coaching is not there. Properties are very nice and are a good value, however working for them is a different story. |
