Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Cabela's Inc.?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Cabela's Inc.?

Senior management (o.k. the Senior Manager) seems insecure. Manages by whining and intimidation. Rogers MN. location.

People are dressed in any type of pant or capris with shirts that are provided from the company, you cannot wear shorts unless it's below the knee and no spandex material either. Before the company went public from what I was told, all managers cared for their employees, now it's all numbers, how many people can you sign up for a club card which is a credit card, every person that is approved the store gets 80 dollars for their location. If they don't reach their goal for sign ups, the managers cut everyone's hours if not laying off people. That's when cabelas laid off over half their employees even though their numbers are high because of the gun sales, that's their main driving force. Managers don't hire employees that have worked in the store when it comes to managing positions even if you apply more than once. Their interviewing process if you get interviewed for managing position, will literally take weeks if not months to give you a straight answer if you did or did not get the position. Before they went public they had a get together with employees and family multiple times a year in which they don't do anymore that had food games interactions fishing archery. The company does not do that anymore even though when you get hired and watch their video on their history etc doesn't happen. Employees are very fun to work with and usually everyone helps each other but the higher ups don't care. Not meaning to sound rude but they do not care, and glendale az location is the worst location for cabelas, many employees who have tried to become a manager have made almost twice as much when they transfer to another cabelas store.
