Guess what it will eventually be all SHRMs! I'm sure the watchful Unions in our respective States will be ready to pounce!

Well, today I was informed on April 1, they will make the announcement that indeed all shrm's are a thing of the past. They will be given the opportunity to reinvent themselves or move on.

They are opening distribution ctrs every where - check hd careers - there will be hrs there. Heard info from reliable source - SHRMS are going to be gone - only in job 18 months myself. In my area they have preselected those "favorite hrs" that will be given a couple buildings to run. A haven for lawsuits awaits!

As deceptive as this company is with their associates they will probably do away with HR. They only introduced the position because of a lawsuit for discrimination.
What comes around goes around in this world.

Was that part of the "performance Management" process or part of the elimination of HR? Manager reviews were due today. There still aren't any HR positions posted out there when normally several are posted every week.

part of hr elimination no performance management. pgh the rhrd held a meet with the hi po's (that will be hard to prove in eeo complaint/court who is a hi po and why) to inform them they were not losing job. Favortism can be proven in pgh. They were told to stop the "rumors". ha.. talk about a hostile work environment. This is also constructive discharge at its best. what do you hear?

glad i found this site. hrs required to perform hourly associate duties on regular basis. do they think they hired a bunch of dummies? they are going to owe us a lot of money when wage and hour gets all the info along with other regulatory agencies. OSHA, IRS, EEOC, ADA (just say no to associates) - retalliation runs!executive expense accounts - who checks them and for what? Haz mat violations - so fired up gotta go.

To mamma bear in chicago, tomorrow is april 1st. We will see what we hear.... If you look for hr jobs at the home depot they are listing a new job title called HR Specialist? Wonder what that is.
heard today that each district is going to cut the # of hrs in half and have them run multi buildings but don't know if this hr specialist is going to be in the store or not. let you know what comes down tomorow. if u hear anything let us know. Any idea how we can get to other THD hrs?

I work as an HRM for Home Depot and thought they were making an announcement today. I've heard lots of rumors - not sure which to believe - but think there will be very few HR Manager positions soon. Very frustrating to wait this out another day. Not sure if we will all have to reapply and reinterview?? That would be my guess since we did so with the IMA's.

I was just checking the Orange Blood site on msn... a couple of posts in the general message board area say there was a store manager meeting today with RHRM's and store managers will notify HRM's tomorrow. (??) Not sure how true that statement is... guess we find out tomorrow, at least I hope.

WE ARE DONE>>>HEARD IT WITH MY OWN SHRM EARS!!! In Pittsburgh market they told us via conference call with RVP that we are done and will no longer work as of May1st. 60 days pay (not sure if it will be a lump sum or not. All HRMS and SMS were on the call. RVP read a cold hearted script. Reason to put more aprons on the floor. Going back the ADCs and DHRM. Will be 4 in Pittsburgh already preselected to be announced by name tomorrow in Pittsburgh. Want to see them explain that hi pos got the jobs. Selection is to be based on the best qualified for the job not Enclouraged to apply for other jobs that will be on line tomorrow. That is called preselection. I want to see them explain how those people were selected for the jobs. EEOC here we come. offering out placement help and EAP. Screw that. I gave up a great career to join this cut throat company. What did you hear? There will be no more aprons on the floor. They should get rid of the incompetent ASMS they have..Schedulers to get most of hr stuff to do. Good Luck to all of you. I am miserable but glad to leave the fear filled culture. God Bless everyone.

Homer Dumped On,
The facts are they did not take care of all the IMA's and Freight Team. IMA's took a large paycut if they stayed as an IMS and Freight Team had to go from full time to part time or find another position. These positions were not high dollar an hour positions and many IMA's still took pay cuts some even had to leave the company.

Dear HD MORE: FACTS IN PGH MARKET
We were fortunate in that we lost zero from Freight Team and were able to move IMA's to other positions where they did not have to take a pay cut. In Pgh market there are many stores over 35m so we were able to place all. So the facts are correct for my area.

It has been cool exchanging information with all of you but with the hostility I am signing off this site. Good Luck!

Well it is sad for all the people who have lost jobs at Homedepot and everywhere, but I do not feel sorry for My HR or any HR that sided with the company against an associate..HR is suppose to be for the associate hear our crys and take our case up the ladder. But not ours she tasked all her duties out and then just talked on the phone and done email. She was totally a waste of Company money and we are all singing"Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead"they took positions that was suppose to be to save our jobs and taught HD how to fire ppl for stupid reasons and get away with it,little did they know HD would just use them up as the rest of us and then toss them aside too.I call it poetic justice for the little people.

Thought I would not be back to this site but wanted to share some important info I got today from no less than the DM. They are going to do the same with the Ops ASMs that they did with the HRMS. They will use key carrier for open and close in line with new policy change coming down. This is suppose to take about 3 months or maybe less now since the plans started last year too. Per company they do not have enough to do in line with ops duties. Here they go again.

What is going on with this company? Do they not realize that HR's do a lot of "little" things that make the stores run better? From organizing employee commitees to helping you with a problem that arises either at work or at home, they are a valubale asset to the stores. I know there are some bad apples out there but my HR is great. She has helped me a lot. She does not deserve this. I think it is a really BAD decision to take them out. Let's see if they put any "aprons on the floor" with this cut. I sincerely hope so because it's just awful that we are so understaffed.

I have been with this company for 12 years. I have been a schedule writer for 6 years. I have always worked very closely with my SHRMs and have gotten along with just about all of them. Having said that, the HRM I am losing now has been with the company 6 years and our store for about 6 months(after being let down from this company once before)she is by far the best I have ever worked with. I am thankful for all she has taught me and I wish her and all the others nothing but the best. As for some of the comments on here about certain HRs, I can understand I have worked with some like that in the past and I know what you mean. Good Luck to the GOOD Ones!!!!!!

I am an HR being let go, and I am doubtfull about getting one of the district jobs, I have seen preselection already when it comes to management positions.

My concern is the I had entertained moving to an ASM position but the post about OPS ASM's is not making me feel too good. Has anyone else heard that rumor? With only a couple ASM's are we going to let DS's run the store now?

Someone in the know, or wishfull thinking only time can tell...
As for the HR situation... in our stores' case we call it Karma!

I work at the SSC and it is true about ASM's all asm's not just Ops are under review. The company is looking to save money and they think the stores have to many ASM"s. DH's not to run stores they are adding key carriers and bringing abck race track manager with keys. Hourly positions though sorry to all those salaried out there. Not all ASM will be removed they are just under review they are looking at a grocery model where there is one store manager and one assistant. They are round tableing I will keep posted.

First, we need to get serious and do something. This could be a monumental class action suit! Trust me I have a law degree. Very few working at THD have the required background they list on the job description. Others who do were not selected. Can you see them try to justify what a O means in court...In tnis area we are reviewing employment law attorneys.I know a few but we need to pick the best.Have you read the "new" Associate Coordinator job description.Sounds like an HR Mgr to me - same duties. Also if you are a gay woman unfortunately you are through now in HR. they also preach to call and "reach out to RHRM-RHRD". If anyone is successful let us know. we are being treated like trash right now...well maybe not a lot different than usual. How may of you are over 40 or female? Hang in there. help is on the way

Homer Dumped On in Pittsburgh, Ohio...
no offense, but how come no one was upset when it was the lowly freight team and IMA's who were being "dumped" on.
I was an IMA told as a group that we would all be taking a substancial pay cut, and full flex. I'm now PT pack down almost 50 year old female, and struggling like so many in our area. Unfortunately in Florida we don't have any laws to protect us!
Saddest thing is on my last review I was an "O" and the last line states " AN assest to the store and The Home Depot as a company! Now how fair is Homer?
